I have a lock off reservation and one night on cash. They are currently going to link the reservation if my dedicated waitlist comes through. If I don't get the dedicated, can they still be linked for the purposes of the dining plan?

Thanks!

You don't need to link the reservations to get the dining plan if you book the cash night through MS.

There is no minimum stay requirement for DVC members to purchase the dining plan, so you can get the dining plan for one cash night in addition to getting it for the nights of your points reservation.

Still, I hope your waitlist comes through so you don't have to change rooms.

Thanks! That is what I was thinking. I too don't want to change rooms especially with my Mother-in-law coming etc. Oh well, we will be at Disney!

Assuming the one cash night is either at the beginning or end of your stay the only differences are whether you have to check out/back in again and for the DDP, when you have to use the credits. Given you'd have 2 full days to use the DDP credits if you opted for the plan, it should be a big deal with minimal planning. IF by change your cash night is in the middle of your stay, it is about twice as complicated with two check out/check ins and more restrictions on your DDP usage. Of course you could then not get the DDP for a portion if you chose.

The cash night is at the end of my stay. I really don't want to have to switch rooms. I didn't realize that I had two different reservations at first.

Hopefully the wait list will come through but as it stands right now you will have to change rooms and wait on the second room. You might consider a two way wait list by adding the lockoff for the days you have the dedicated reservations as well. You might also be able to rent that room from DVC and link the reservation. I do think you have an excellent chance of getting the wait list given it's for a single night. The last think you can do is check on check in and possibly even during your stay. Simply let them know what's going on and ask if they can leave you in the same unit regardless. It's actually cheaper on the resort to do so since it saves them a full cleaning and change over.
