Having been made redundant from Barclays Bank in May 2000 after 20 years working for them full-time, I have a new job! Apart from a 6 month stint when I returned to Barclays at the beginning of last year, at their request, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mum for the first time in my life. I think I've milked it for all it's worth now and when dh started getting the tics I decided it was time to think about working for my supper again!
I start on 15 April working for...
wait for it...
Barclays Bank
Will I never learn?
(You didn't think I was going to say Disney, did you?)
My job description is Relationship Development Manager and I shall be responsible for developing relationships (not just a clever name!) with KBIs (Key Business Influencers - Solicitors, Accountants, Estate Agents, etc), existing customers and the media, to win business for the Corporate Banking sector. And the job is what they describe as 'location independant' which means I can choose to work from home, or the office.
I had to go through a pretty gruelling 'selection centre' assessment day, so I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself and excited about getting started.
