I have a Job Interview tomorrow!!

i wonder if you're already in your interview...
in any case, i have my fingers and toes crossed for you....

Well I am back!!!........all I can say is all your wonderful Pixie Dust worked....I GOT THE JOB!!! :cool1:

I am in total shock and all I can say is that interviews have certainly changed since the last time I went to one!. Last time I sat with one person who asked me some questions and that was about it.....but this was the most daunting thing I have ever done!

Started off sitting in the school staff room with 9 other candidates that threw me straight away as I have never had a 'group' interview before. The headmistress was there (shes lovely!!) the heads of both KS1 & KS2 and 2 other teachers and was told this was the panel who would be interviewing us :scared1: :scared1: So we had to have a group discussion about the changes of education and the role of a school teacher over the past 30 years. Then the panel went away and after 5 minutes came back and asked two of the people to leave...so that left 8 of us....next was an administration/PC test (that was OK) then another 2 was asked to leave. The final 6 then had individual interviews then another 2 left!!.

So that left 4. The other 3 had lots of experience so I didnt think I had a chance. We had another interview each and the the headmistress asked us to wait whilst they made a decision....They called me in but as they had done that with all the others before I just guessed it was time to leave. They all looked at me and the headmistress just said 'Jane I would like to offer you the job but more importantly would love it if you accepted'....being an emotional pathetic person I started to get tears in my eyes!!. So I start on Monday. 9.00-1.00 monday to friday term time only wheich means I can still take my kids to school as they start at 8.300 and pick them up and not have to worry about childminding in the holidays!!. I was then shown around the school and when I came back to the staffroom most of the teachers were there to welcome me :)

SO A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONES LOVELY POSITIVE WISHES & GOOD LUCK MESSAGES AS THEY WORKED!!!!!

and WDW see you next year!! :cheer2: :bounce:

CONGRATULATIONS JANE!!!!!! That sounds like a strong field and you were obviously the best for the job!!! Well done!

Delighted to hear your good news :sunny:

Sounds a bit like 'Pop Idol' in School! Must have been nerve wracking!

Congratulations - I'm glad you got it especially after hearing how perfect it was for you! It sounds like a nice environment to be working in!

A massive well done! Be proud of yourself!

Congratulations Jane thats fantastic news. Good luck for monday, let us know how your first day goes :)

Congratulations, well done

I've been for a few jobs in my time in schools but have never heard of interviews like that.

So much better that you hear the news before you leave.

To ditto WILS I thought it sounded like pop idol too! are you sure it wasn't???
anyway heaps of congratulations and :grouphug: for you, won't it be lovely knowing your next trip to the world is all down to you?

Thank you all for your wonderful congratulations!!!. It was a bit like Pop Idol but they were very nice and did take the people into another room one by one so they were not embarassed or anything!. I have spoken to a few friends and they had heard of this way of interviewing its suppose to also see stress levels in people!!

I will of course let you all know how it goes on Monday....feel sick again thinking about it!! :)

Well done Jane, and welcome to school life. Every day will fly past now, and you will be at WDW before you know it.

Well done Jane! I had never heard of interviews like this until I came to the North East, but I know lots of schools use this technique, so maybe its a local education thing?

I'm sure you'll be fine, a couple of weeks to settle in and then its half term for you to catch your breath!!

We've been to our local BIG school for an open evening for DD who is Y6 (Stokesley), she loved it, but it seems very daunting and big and grubby!! What can you do?? They have to move on, and I suppose it looked a lot like my old school, and I survived!

Good luck for monday.
