Our family of nine are going to WDW the first weekend of June and I wanted to know if we buy a child A/P can we us this to get a discount on a disney hotel? Also, I know there are some food discounts available with the A/P too. Is the discount good only for the pass holder or can it be applied to the whole bill?

To help lower the cost I was hoping to find a resort that all of us could stay in the same room together. Is there such a place on site? We have rooms reserved for AS Movies but if I could find someplace where we could stay and split the cost that would be wonderful. There are six adults and three kids.

Thanks for any help.

I've heard that you can use a child's AP to get room discounts, but I'm not sure that I'd lay out the money prior to finding out if there will be any discounts at the time that you want to make the trip.

If discounts are offered, you could probably book your reservation and buy the pass before check in.

Good luck!!

From what I have read the most any resort[the deluxes only] romm can handle is 5-2 adults-3 small children.

It sounds like you need to rent a vacation home. Go to the

Orlando Hotels and Attractions Board http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=15

to find a close vacation house that will house you all! And it will be less money than the WDW resorts.

The two bedroom DVC rooms will hold eight plus one child under the age of three. You can look at renting points from a DVC member to stay in one of these rooms.

It has been two years since we were at WDW and we only had four of us so didn't need more room and also we went during off season so the cost was less.

I'm so green with all this I don't even know where to look for DVC members to see about renting. Plus we have nine of us. The youngest child being 7 years old. Would they even let us rent if we are more than eight?

I thought about renting a vacation home but I'm so overwhelmed with the choices and not sure of the locations and such, augh!
I'm starting to stress out, lol.:earseek:

This is the first trip for my sister in law and her family and I just want them to have a magical trip. However they are limited budget wise and I don't want them to feel squeezed for money to cover this trip.

Can anyone give me the pros for staying offsite? We will have our vehicle for transportation but are the rental homes close by or will we be driving long distances. I know we will be staying until the parks close each night and up at the crack of dawn to get there. I'm just wondering if the early entry and disney transportation are worth the extra 600.00 per family to stay on site.

Look on the Disney Vacation Club Rent/Trade Board on this site to find what you are looking for. These have kitchens so you save money on food when staying on site.

It has been years since we stayed offsite because we love the convenience of Disney transportation and the magic of Disney hotels but I know many people who stay offsite and love it.

If you are considering renting DVC points, you'll probably have to rent a 2BR and a studio. The only single DVC unit that would be appropriate for a group your size is the Grand Villa, I'm gonna give a guess that option is out. GV's have a high point cost and are very hard to come by.

There are vacation homes outside Disney that may be more suited to a group your size and that have a close proximity. There is a vacation home thread here on the Budget Board that you might want to look into.

I think there are some off site choices that might work for a group that size. I know the Holiday Inn Family Suites kidsuite sleeps 8, and that they have a "two bedroom" suite which costs more so I assume it is bigger. There are 3 (at least) Holiday Inn's near WDW, and the only one I got really rave reveiws of was the one called Family Suites (not Sunspree or Maingate). We got the kidsuite for $89 and $99 a night for end of May 30th, 31st and June 9th, 10th. Here is a link

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/pc/1/en/hd/DISFS

on the left hand side you can enter dates and select a rate/discount, try Entertainment it was the best rate and it did not come up when I tried "best avaliable"

Okay, curiosity got me- They have a 3 bedroom mega kid suite that sleeps 9 and is $260 a night in June 04, includes breakfast.... To me that is not really worth it because you could get 3 rooms onsite at a Value for only a little more a night. Consider Pop Century, from what I hear they will not be booking big groups (as in 40 teenagers on a band trip with two adults) at PC, but they DO at All Stars...

While I am overloading you with information, did you know about Gay Days at WDW? First weekend in June... That's when we are going, we could care less, but thought it is better to know than to be surprised by this.

I think this Disney thing is addicting.
