Background...I started my love affair with WDW when I went for the first time in junior high. DH and I made it a joint affair when we went for our honeymoon, which was his first time to WDW. We have gone at least once or twice each year since 2001, and even made it to Disneyland. My next big dream was to take a child some day and walk down Mainstreet USA, introducing him/her to the magic.
Mission accomplished. DD went for her first time at 8 mos. and loved it all. Took her again at 1.5 and she wanted to spend all her days with the characters. This year she'll be 2.5 when we go and yes my friends, she has discovered the princesses!
"Cinderelly, Cinderelly! Part of your world!" Cinderella is her fav with Little Mermaid and Snow White a close second. She has this weird obsession with the bad characters, pointing out how mean they are....Ursula and King Triton...."They not nice!" she always points out. Same with Cinderella, "Wucifo the kitty...he not nice. The mom and sisters are mean!" But the best Disney moment for me is when out of no where she starts singing a line from one of the songs in the movie!
Ah, it's so cute! I think Part of Your World is her favorite because her face just lights up when she hears it...plus, when I catch her singing it, it is so heartfelt! I bought a few princess dress up dresses last summer at garage sales and the only one she'll wear is the Snow White one..."Where's my glass slipper? Let's go to the ball!"
One of the most uncanny things is that from about 9-10 mos. she has referred to her blankie as "Bobidee." And this was before we ever watched Cinderella or mentioned it. I guess she has Disney in her blood.
Thanks for letting me share my Disney mommy moment! Can't wait to have her meet the princesses in a couple months and see her reaction this year! She'll really know who they are and we might get her to wear her Snow White dress to meet them as well!
