I have a delicate question...

I hope not to offend anyone but I need to know when the "Gay Days" are at WDW. Our families are going next June and I have a few in the family that are against that lifestyle and I'm affraid that they will be upset if we are there at the same time.

I'd appreciate any help in this matter

They are usually the first weekend in June.

I believe it is for the entire first week of June. There should be a schedule on the official gay days website. I think it is gaydays.com but I am not sure.

I've never been during Gay Days, but the overwhelming consensus on the boards is to stay away from MK on Saturday, more because of the crowds than anything. Other than that, they say that you won't even know that it's going on.

we were there I guess the last day of gay days - went to epcot - I would not blame you for staying away - the first day of our trip 8th to the 15th was I believe the last day of gay days... other then a couple of totally classless, shirtless, flames who were obviously cruising for "asction" it was not so bad... went to get a water for my kid...saw a guy wearing a cool medallion that blinked mickey and disney world alternately...had a wonderful chat with the guy... pointed me in the direction ogf the medallion vendor... he was a great guy... they are not all freaks...just some... to avoid the "just some" I would show up just after that week.

Our vacation overlapped with gay days three years ago and it was no big deal. We had no problems whatsoever. If you want to be safe just check the schedule out and go to one of the other parks on that saturday.

The Gay Days events are planned around the 1st Saturday in June(June 5 in 2004). The 1st Saturday in June is Gay Days at the Magic Kingdom (extremely crowded at MK). Other events are scheduled for various parks and locations probably starting on the Tuesday before the 1st Saturday in June and ending on Sunday.

There hasn't been any deviation in the years I have checked regarding the selected parks relative to the 1st Saturday in June:
Thursday--AK
Friday--MGM
Saturday--MK
Sunday--EPCOT

we were also there this year arrived saturday and if i remember correctly they run thursday thru sundayfirst weekend in june. If you have young children they are completely oblivious. my dd 8and ds 6 had no idea so if its not aproblem for you its no big deal. they were no problems had more trouble with unsupervsed teens . hope this helps

just check the website...we have gone for Gay Week for 3 years in a row and LOVE it! (the crowds aren't bad at all!)
Only thing is avoid MK on the Saturday...IT'S HORRID! we went to the monorail station on that Saturday...I've never seen so many people going to MK in my life...lol

from June 1-6 and they were scheduled at the other three parks sometime during the week and then MK on Saturday. We left on Saturday, so I can't speak for that day, but on the other park days we never noticed a thing. I never would have known it was going on if I hadn't read it on here before we left.
Don't worry about it; just avoid MK on that Saturday.
