1.Can I purchase early bird check in, after I already bought the tickets?

2. If checking in 24hrs prior to, what does it mean by flight segments? We have a flight with a layover, but we do NOT change planes. So, what does that mean for me when checking in?

3. Will we be able to be together? Atleast two and two? We have two kids.

Thanks, We have never flown SW before, so any advice will help.

Yes, you can.

When you check in at 24hrs (or if you have EBCI) you will get your boarding passes for your outbound flight or flights. If you have a connection that requires a plane change, you'll get both boarding numbers and can print both passes. In your case, you aren't changing planes so you will get one boarding number/pass per person.

3. Will we be able to be together? Atleast two and two? We have two kids.

There's never a guarantee of that on any airline, but unless you are in the late B group or Cs, you shouldn't have a problem getting at least 2 and 2 together. If you are in the A group, you will be set. If you don't buy EBCI (which I highly recommend getting as it's very convenient AND it gives you better boarding position), be ready to check in just before 24hrs. If you have any doubt about your clock's time vs Southwest's time, just try to check in early - the error message you get will show you what time they think it is so you can see if your clock is off or not.

Thank you!

So, if we fly out at 8:55am on a Saturday, then do I check in online at 8:5am on Friday?

Also, does anyone know where I can use a computer to check in the day before we come home? Can I do that at the resort?

You can always ask the concierge at your resort. Several years ago when staying at the Grand Floridian, the concierge did this for us.

You also can check-in at Guest Relations at the WDW parks. Can't vouch for the water parks, as we don't visit them. But the four main parks, Guest Relations will check you in.

I would suggest arriving at Guest Relations about 30 minutes prior to your check-in time, particularly if your goal is to have everyone board at the same time. If there is no queue, you can hang out near the doorway. If there is, join the queue, then just motion others ahead of you until your check-in time. I did that one time at DHS and the CM thought I was a bit crazy until I explained what I was doing! *LOL*
