Our cat had 8 kittens after someone who was looking after her when we were away let her out
These kittys are so cute but we have to find homes for them they have taken over the House!
Anyone one need a kitty

I hope you do find homes for the little furballs, but beware that people do get free kittens from people and sell them for lab testing.

Breeders, someday.

But I wouldn't worry about it for now. There are many strays out there without owners breeding all by themselves. Not to mention lots of ignorant pet owners who surrender their pets to shelters for really stupid reasons like, "the dog eats too much". C'mon. A severe allergy is one thing, not realizing the puppy's gonna get bigger is another.

Honestly, the cats and dogs adopted from shelters or regular people (not breeders) who didn't spay their pets are the lucky ones. Many many many more get euthanized, abandoned, abused... it goes on and on. Actually even the ones that get euthanized are lucky. They at least die with dignity and without pain.

I had a yard sale today and 4 of the kittens were spoken for.
There.s a lady down the street whos husband died not to long ago she asked for one.
so that leaves three and there is a pet food store down the street from me so I think that on Mon I,ll put a sign up in there.
She was booked to go get fixed but we were away and my older son,s friend let her out and it was to late by then. I was just wating till the kittens were all gone before I took her in.

It is fun watching them play and run around the house and they are so sweet when they are sleeping,but I wont miss cleaning out that litter box!

Why do people have un-spayed cats when they do not plan to have kittens??

Do you all know how many of these kittens will end up having to be euthanised because once they are not cute little kittens anymore , they often get dumed at the pound???



If you can not have your pet altered you should not have a pet. I'm sorry if this sounds cruel, but I used to work in shelters and I have seen too many beautiful furbabies DIE because of people who don't spay/neuter their pets.

See, what happens is people oooh and ahhh over the cute kittens. Then a lot of them end up at the shelter when they are not little anymore. (same thing goes for puppies and baby ferrets). But people don't usually want to adopt THEM. No. They want to adopt the cute baby kittens/puppies/kits. It's an ugly cycle.

Now, I LOVE kittens. And puppies. Monty Dog was a puppy when we got him (from a professional breeder). And, I am far from an animal rights fanatic , but this is just plain irresponsible pet ownership. I would never consider getting a pet of any kind unless I could have it fixed. It's better for their long term health and it causes less unwanted kittens.

Just remember, IF you do manage to find homes for these 8 kittens. At least 2 of them will end up in shelters, and likely die before the age of 6 because there are just too many unwanted older pets being dumped everyday.



Finding homes for kittens is easy. Finding homes for cats is not.

I wanted to adopt an older dog, but since Monty is our first dog and we live in an apartment, so we wanted a purebred whose parents we could see and meet so we would not have any major surprises about size or temperment.

Our next dog(s) will ALL be older, shelter dogs when we are living in our own home.

And will , I assume be from a professional breeder who knows what they are doing, and not just from someone who's unspayed dog "got out of the yard".

To the OP - if you really want to better these kittens chances of having homes in a year or two, get them their first series of shots. Then pass that cost on to their new owners. NEVER list FREE PUPPIES or FREE KITTENS. Those signs *tend* attract bad pet owners who want a part time pet.

Someone who is willing to pay $20-30 for a kitten is someone who is more than likely serious about taking care of it, and besides, they would have wound up paying that much for the first series of shots anyway, so it's not like they would not have spent the $$ anyway.

You are calling this poster an irresponsible pet owner. When that is not necessarily true in this case. Sometimes these things just happen as seems to have happened here. You cannot always control everything that happens in this life. Sometimes animals become pregnant when they shouldn't, sometimes people become pregnant when they shouldn't too!!

At least she has taken responsibility for these kittens, is trying to find them good and decent homes. She could have just thrown them out on the street! Then she would have been an irresponsible pet owner.
