I hate to ask repeat questions but...

I understand that this needs to be done, but it is very frustrating especially since I have read some post that people get tired of the repeating questions.

Here is my question... Is AKL really, really worth the extra money?

My husband has decied that he wants to skip Disney this year(we usally go ever year in Dec. and stay at the Port Orleans Resort) and wait until Jan/Feb of 2005 and stay at AKL. I don't know if I can wait that long. LOL
So what do you all think, is it worth the wait?

I can't answer abt AKL. But I just wanted to tell you that the current Dis server isn't big enough to handle the volumn. When there are alot of people "on" at the same time, search goes down. I usually have better luck searching very early in the am (est).

Have no fear, they have purchased a new server & will be installing it shortly. This should enable the search as well as the response time to improve!

Is it worth waiting for.??..that depends. And I can also say AKL does effect "how" you stay...I'll try to explain. We always stayed at moderates. We never spent enough times in our rooms to justify the price difference, we are not rich and....your at disney right? We went yearly and a few years back got a really good deal on WL, stayed there and loved it. It actually changed the way we looked at our disney vacations. The resort does make a difference. We stayed at WL twice and decided to try something new but of course at that point there was no going back to a moderate...we went to AKL and we LOVED IT! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. But we spend A LOT more time at the resort and a lot less time at the park. Now we have stayed at AKL twice...is it worth? YES! It is a wonderful resort and I think everyone should stay there once if it is possible, we had all the concerns that others have about it being isolated dark...etc etc (all unfounded)...we are go go go kind of people and were really surprised how much we trully fell in love with it. Now I've done it twice and I'm kind of missing the go go go thing (I'd like to see Illuminations again!)...so I think next time...as much as I'll miss it...we will stay elsewhere... So as you can see I can say AKL is worth the wait and if your hubby wants to skip a year to stay there I'd say go for it. If you can't live without your disney fix...go with the moderates...we were happy prior to going deluxe...(we will have to skip after this summer). And I don't think it would matter who you are traveling with....we have DD, now 7 and we would love it regardless! Hopes this helps...let me know if you have any questions!

I really like the resorts... DBF loves the resort! I'm having a hard time convincing him to try another resort The resort is a little dark but I think that's part of the atmosphere. The bus service is also great too! I haven't had to wait more than 15-20 minutes for a bus for pickup or drop-off.

I wouldn't worry about repeat questions. That's what this discussion forum is here for!

There are always going to be new people that have similar questions. Just look at the Refillable Resort Mug questions that are always on here!

AKL is fantastic! We also loved it so much we just spent time at the resort. I especially love the smells as you enter the lobby! If you don't stay there this time try to go eat at Boma. My DH, who is a very big steak and potato kind of guy, even gave it a thumbs up!
