Well that's an exaggeration, but I do find some things a little sad:-

1. I know we've had the longest day so now all the days are getting shorter

2. The weather's nice but the school term still has just over 4 weeks to run (plenty of time for the weather to change.)

3. The sales have started so the shops which have until recently been a riot of summer colour are now looking a mess.

4. There is winter school uniform in the shops already.

It's as though we can't enjoy the summer break without being reminded of autumn.

Can you tell I'm in a pessimistic mood today?

Awww hun xx

im filled with the prospect of a long hot summer :cool1:

There usually is when we've booked to go to Florida!:lmao:

But I want to enjoy the summer NOW!!!! Not in four weeks time (I work in a school), and I want to be packing for our holiday (I keep laying things out on the bed and then put them away again before DH gets home.) It's worse than a kid waiting for Christmas. I think that's why I'm so irritated at the shops - how can they be getting ready for the autumn when I haven't been on holiday yet? (They should plan their schedule around my diary. LOL!)

:lmao: i do agree about the shops ! who wants winter clothes yet ??

I agree, I really want the girls home now (most mums think I'm mad:confused3 ) and with the school hols looming I realised that the one thing that eldest DD doesn't have is some short shorts. I went to the shops to get some the other day and I think I'm too late! The choice was so naff and I didn't really want to pay Gap prices for "garden" shorts but thats all that was left that I liked (at least they were in the sale).

When i saw the Asda advert the other night advertising school uniforms i thought it was a bit early to be buying new ones .
:confused3

Our school holidays start next week, lets hope we get some good weather, it was hot today but we've not had much sun yet.

Shops do make us depressed, the advent calendars will be on sale soon

the advent calendars will be on sale soon
Thanks for that happy thought! :lmao::lmao:

I must say that since we have had the shop we seem to live by the seasons, In January when we were in Florida we were saying that it was ages till Monthers day and that's been and gone, then it was Easter and Father's day and they have both gone, the next thing on our calendar is Halloween and then Christmas! The years flying by!

Well come tomorrow it's only 6month till Christmas :santa:

I agree about the year flying past!

I booked WDW in Feb, and now it's only 99 days away! When I get back it'll be mid-october, which jsut zips through to christmas! Then it'll only be a year to my wedding :scared1: it was always 2 years away!!!

Time does fly, I agree shops do out next seasons things out too soon.
I remember last year I needed a new bikini in August and could not find one anywhere!!! Honestly who is going to buy winter clothes now??

I'm always holiday shopping.

.......erm....I have a confession.

I bought eldest DD's winter coat yesterday :guilty: it was such a bargain for such a stunning wool coat from M&S and there was only one left and it was her size so I can't be the only one out winter coat shopping :lmao::rotfl::laughing::rotfl2:

I agree with you about the shops :worship:Which idiots decide these things is a mystery I'm still trying to get our holiday clothes sorted out and they've gone and had sales early up here and filled up with winter woolies and long sleeved tops and thick trousers:eek: We're having a warm and very humid weather front and there are no decent summer items to be had at all. Just because they plan the clothing ranges up to 2 years in advance doesn't mean we should be told when to change our clothing from season to season. Thank goodness I have a few between season items kept out of circulation for such eventualities.

The year just seems to whizz by the older I get and I'm getting more irritated by things too OMG I don't want to think about the school holidays just yet our DS doesn't break up for another 4 weeks and they get far too long off anyway. After 3 weeks he's moaning and grumpy and missing his friends as they will all be away with their families. I pray for school to re-open just to get his routine back, yes we do things while he's off but we both work opposite shifts so it's not always easy to arrange. Our leave rarely coincides with school summer holidays.

well, aren't we all 'the glass is half empty'??? :lmao:
c'mon guys, here we go....
we have at least two months of long hot days to enjoy before we have to think about the expense of new winter coats and boots.
salad is actually really yummier than stew, and quicker to make, and theres less washing up.
the washing gets dry on the line, less ironing!!
some of us are enjoying limbo land before we get exam results!!
there are still some cheapy holidays to the sun left (check olympic holidays if you don't believe me!).
the euro is gradually creeping up (wish it would shoot a little faster).
I have the weekend off to spend with my bfs son
my bathrooms nearly finished (4 weeks of hell should soon be over), and I get a working loo upstairs today!
you are on the DIS, and so am I - what could be better???
