I hate my wedding video!!! Update first post

Aww I am sorry you are going through this, I am keeping my figers and toes crossed for you that you like the new video:wizard:

i am just going to re-emphasize what other people have said about definately calling the videographer with a list of complaints. you have nothing to lose and you should not settle for something you are not satisfied with. this is your wedding video!

hoping everything works out for you!

Thank you everyone, so far I haven't heard back from him but I will keep you updated as soon as I know something.

Have they done anything to help you? I really hope so :flower3:

He seems somewhat willing to fix certain things I complained about. In his eyes he thinks he did a good job with what he had to work with. In my opinion he was there for 6 hours and our video is 26 minutes long and the fact that he couldn't find more sentimental or important things to show in that 26 minutes is mind boggling to me. If our reception wasn't that exciting then he could have focused more on other parts of the day. I have my unedited photos back and I feel I know more about what happened during the day by looking at my photos than from watching my video.

At least I paid for the raw and I will probably have it re edited in the future (after my little man arrives) and so I am very happy that I bought it.

Ouch, I'd find that comment pretty hurtful!

So long as he's going to do something for you, and you're going to be happy in the end... I suppose that's what matters.

Wow, that was kind of rude of him to say! It's definitely good that you have the raw footage, but you shouldn't have to go through all the trouble to have it re-edited, especially after you paid all this money.

If he's not willing to budge any more than spread your story about your experience so people don't use him! LOL...okay, so maybe that's a little mean, but still....

I personally think he should fix what ever you and robert don't like. I mean you paid for something neither of you like and you could of set a video camera up and done it your self's for cheaper. I would take the raw video and take it some where to get fixed. Your wedding was Beautiful and you should be able to look back at it one day with your children and watch the video and be happy from watching the video. Instead of putting it some where and never watching it. You pay for a service and you should get a service and if you don't like it then it should be fixed! That's just my opinion really hope everything goes great! :flower3:

So lets see the pics!! popcorn::

I have the un edited photos back but not the finish product, you all will have to keep waiting lol.

I just want to say that there are a few good parts in our video, the beginning is pretty good and I was happy with my video until it got to the reception. The reception or how he chose to show the reception is where I am having a problem. Robert and I are hardly even shown at all (only for first dance and cake cutting and during the speeches) and that annoys me. In our photos there are times when I am sitting on his lap or we are stealing a kiss and just being sweet with each other and none of it is on our video. Like I said before, if there wasn't 'good' footage to show why make the reception the longest (and most horrible) part of the video? Why not highlight the best parts, shorten it, and focus on 'better' things that did happen. I'm just really frustrated that with 6 hours of coverage, the amazing suite we stayed in, all the decor, etc. he could only choose the things he did to represent in the final video.

I don't want to bash him but I am disappointed and I don't think I would recommend him. I am glad he seems willing to fix things but I haven't heard back from him (it's the weekend so I don't expect to) so I don't actually know what he is going to fix yet.

And you are all right, I shouldn't have to pay more money to have someone re edit it but the way it is now I will never watch it again.

I could have spent half the money and gotten a better finished product.

So I just got my video back today and watched it right away. I have to say I am so disappointed especially after the price we paid for it. I feel like our video is not as good as any of the sample videos or other videos we have seen from our videographer. My friend got her video back about 3 weeks ago and her wedding was 2 months and 2 weeks prior to mine so I feel like our video is just slapped together because he was behind. I also wasn't consulted on music choices at all, just told my video was done.

Any opinions on what I should do? Should I complain or do you think it will grow on me?

Update: Jeffrey fixed our wedding video and it is much better. I am glad he was willing to work with us on making changes. It still isn't 100% IMO but it is a lot better. At least now I don't feel like I wasted 5k. I can actually show my wedding video to people now!

Awww yay!!! So glad you got it fixed and worked out! :thumbsup2 Did you ever get your wedding pictures back?? :flower3:

did you get it on you tube?

It's too long for you tube...at a whopping 24 minutes long!! You tube has a max of 10 minutes I think. I tried the other sites Carry mentioned but apparently the video is not in the correct format for those so I don't think I will be able to upload. You'll just have to bring your butt over here for pizza and video watching!
