Is it just me? I miss the days of deciding where to eat when we got there. I don't know where I want to eat 6 months in advance. So I've put it off and put it off and finally today, I made myself look up the park hours and make ADR's. TOO. MUCH. PLANNING.

Phew. I feel better now. :teeth:

I should mention that I usually love planning my Disney trips, but I'm having lots of probs at home (seeing a divorce lawyer tomorrow, in fact), so I'm not exactly looking forward to this trip. I still don't want to make ADR's 6 mos in advance though. :sad2:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE making ADRs! I'm weird that way. I love calling Disney Dining and talking to the cast members. I feel like I'm actually doing something proactive in my planning rather than just lurking on the DIS.

I agree. I have no idea where and when I want to eat when I'm there over NYE, and of course i'm sure everything is solidly booked already. I'm going to do it on Saturday so it should be an interesting experience.

Hope you have a great trip regardless!

:grouphug: Oh yeah, I'm sorry about all your stress right now. I just went through a divorce this summer. It WILL get better. Enjoy that trip and use it as a time to forget all the mess at home.

I am the queen of spontaneity...I can't even plan for what I want for dinner tonight! Trying to plan a trip and ADRs...I just can't handle it.

I have to admit that I actually enjoy the planning, too ... truth be told, I even plan the counter service stops as well

I know ... pathetic ...

Girl, when are you going?? I'll be there this weekend and then again in February with the whole fam. I guess you're going later, otherwise we'd have to hook up!!!

BTW, where did you make your ADRs??

I agree totally.

We tend not to go when it's really crowded, but even then we haven't had much need to reservations for most restaurants. If the wait is too long for our first choice, we have plenty of others as back-up. If we really want to eat at a special and popular restaurant we'll call ahead, but there seem to be only a few these days that are difficult to get seatings. It also helps to be flexible.

I cant say I really enjoyed it. Though I have had some nice CM's that tried very hard to get me what I wanted :thumbsup2

I'm with you on makin' ADR's, too much.
I did read on another thread about not bookin' 'em and havin' the concierge deal with 'em AFTER you arrive. Course, that's IF you can afford concierge, but that's the way I'm gonna do it coz I can't stand themtellin' me I have to eat at 9:00PM! I'd be full by then coz I'd have eaten my own arm off by that time o' night.

OUr last trip we did the dining plan, and I knew we'd have to make ADRs. Initially I dreaded it, and then it became sort of fun- like a challenge.

Gosh, I get my kicks in the dorkiest ways.

Oh I sure wish we were going to be there at the same time. It would be great to meet up! I will be there at the end of Nov. with my family and then at the end of Jan. with some girlfriends. :thumbsup2

Oh and I made ADR's at Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Biergarten, Marrakesh, Hollywood & Vine (lunch with JoJo for the girlies, of course), Alfredo's and Chef Mickey's.
