I'm being subjected to the Federalist papers in political science.
Can anybody help me AT ALL with federalist 51?
I can't answer any of these.

4. How is the separation of the powers between the branches assured?
6. Which branch is the exception?

I feel really stupid reading these, but honestly they were written 200+ years ago, and I'm not very well educated on the American system yet, and I know crapall about the American System.

Trust me, the Canadian system was so easy.
Y'all have to be so difficult.
:P

4 is probably the system of checks and balances.
Frankly, I can't think of an answer to 6 because every branch has checks on the other two...

I love history but I really think they need to "translate" all of these documents written with funky english to something more modern. It's daunting to try and read all of it and understand exactly what they mean.

We never even learned about each individual paper or anything, just what the papers meant.

The different branches are there to make sure no one other branch has complete authority over another.

Yep. Maybe it is a trick question?

That's what I would guess. There really isn't an exception to the checks and balances system...that's the whole idea of it. All the branches have powers over the others to keep any one from gaining to much power.

And they really should translate some of those documents. Make the lives of students everywhere so much easier!

Well there is one exception that I was taught in school. If one party gains too much power they can vote anything in.Including changes to government structure. This method has been used many times in the past in countries such as Rome,Germany,Russia, and England. If you count when England became a democracy.

4. Would be checks and balances

Unless 6 is a trick question, it's the Judicial Branch, because the justices aren't elected by the people, and they serve for life or until they retire.

I love how y'all answered me the day it was due.
As in, I already handed it in.
Thanks though!

Most of my answers are wrong, but at least I handed it in unlike most of my class...
I think it's kind of mean to make me answer questions on these papers, without having me learn the system properly first...
