I hate Grade school Halloween parties!

Nope but oh well. My child enjoys it so that's all that matters.

They can't fine you for something you didn't agree too. You had to have signed something somewhere along the way even if it was when you registered your child for school in order for them to be allowed to actually fine you for money.

When I was in grade school (in the 80s), we had Halloween parties. We dressed up in our costumes, had a parade at the school, made Halloween decorations, and overloaded on pizza and candy. And then we went home to go trick-or-treating.

The fact that so many schools now have either banned that outright, or call it something other than "Halloween," or making dressing up such a boring chore by making it some kind of educational assignment just makes me sad.

I don't see the point of sucking the joy out of something that was so fun when we were kids. It's one day.

I totally agree. We had a blast in school. Granted we didnt have elaborate costumes it was always that plastic one piece thing that tied in the back and plastic mask, but what fun we had. Im hoping when my DD starts school next year that the one she goes to will have all kinds of parties for the holidays.
Im so tired of PC stuff. Kids only get to be kids once, let them have junkfood for the one day and get hyped up on sugar cause then they crash out early that night from all the over stimulation that day.
