I hate conformists.

I'm really curious now.
Why does everyone around here look down on new posters, when even some of the older ones act the exact same way?
For the record, I'm not about to attack anyone here. I'm pointing out an observation.

It's just that some people come in and their very first post is rude or uncalled for. When the old ones do it they are either ignored because tpeople know that that's not how they are or they are ignored because we just want them to go away.

Actually, sometimes the older posters are backed up.
I've been a part of it before, I've done the condescending, the name calling, and the stand-up.

I agree from what I've observed.
Also you guys all seem the have different cliques.

I think people right away jumped at IMGN because they assumed he was a troll but he was only joking around.
So no worries everyone. Lets all get along.

I agree with you, but when someone comes on here and their first 25 posts are not much more than rude posts and rude jokes towards people they have not associated with at all it is not right.

It doesn't matter if they are old or new. When a poster is rude on every thread they've posted on, they deserve what's coming. You'd think once they realized they were challenged they'd stop.

You've been here for a while, but if you were annoying and rude on every thread, you bet your bippy I'd call you out on it.

I am done with it. I am going to see how this plays out. If IMGN comes back and starts posting productive posts without being rude on almost ever post then I will be the first to apologize to them. Other than that all I have seen is rude posts and silly attacks on people.

No one has the right to take other DISers to task, whether they have been here from the beginning, or if they are new.

If anyone has an issue with a rude post then please report it and let a moderator or webmaster handle it. That is our job, no one elses.

Gotcha

I was assuming he was iImagine..iGenie..or whatever other usernames he used.
Older posters will know who I'm talking about.
How many times did he get banned..?

Back to conforming to the ways to fit in. I don't understand how that really works for people. I would think if the person is just putting on a false personality or look just to please people or fit into a group they would eventually become tired of not being who they really are and drop back to being who they really are. It could also work the opposite way, if someone all of the sudden came up to me and had several piercings and dyed hair and dressed really weird I would be like what the hell are you doing. People should just concentrate on being the best of what they are and if they do that then most people will like them.

Well, the reason Disney dropped the franchise was because of the numbers; Narnia just wasn't pulling in any cash.

I'm not entirely sure that another studio would want to pick up the series at this point, with the recession and all.

Frankly speaking it doesn't appear as though the general public really wants to see another Narnia movie, which is a shame.

I wanted to see The Horse And His Boy get a big-screen Disney adaption...

Wasn't the Horse and his boy "The Water Horse?"

Ugh.

Of all the conforming people I know, non-conformists are the worst.

I wear what I like. No, it's not major brands like Hollister and AE.

I cheer for teams I like. That means the Red Sox, the Patriots. Just cause most of everybody else in New England likes them, too doesn't make me a conformist. I grew up with these teams. I fell in love with them. They're a part of me just like my personality.

i dont see how supporting a home team of any sort is conforming...
i mean really.

Sports are a more territorial conformity(if you can even call it that). I do however still se a few people wearing Yankees, Redsox hats because we really have no baseball team to follow in the New Orleans area. But football the majority is Saints fans and we are damn proud to be. Also like college sports, around here we have the Green Wave of Tulane University and they are on T.V. a lot, but when I go off to UC-Santa Barbara I am going to support them. Does that mean I am conforming. I don't think so.

I really have no clue if I am conforming or not. To have a clue, I would have to pay attention to other people... And that's just no fun.

Oh, but paying attention to people can be a blast, my friend.

There's this girl at my school who has a huge unibrow and an underbite and looks like a chimp. And another one who's cheeks are always bright red for some reason. AND there's a guy who has to duck down to get in doorways. And some kid who walks around with a cardboard cutout of a guitar (one he made, not bought, it has like 5 strings drawn on it with black sharpie) and will stop in the middle of the hallway and be like "NAIR NAIR".

Don't even get me started on the interesting things you'll see at walmart. That place is a freakshow.

ah. the fine sport of the people watch.
entertainment at its finest.

::yes::

I think eating a Mickey Bar and parking your hiney on a bench somewhere in a Disney park is one of the finest forms of entertainment.
;)

I consider myself a people watcher. When I'm out and about, I'll usually just sit and watch people for a while. Southeast Missouri has some of the strangest people on the planet, trust me.

I agree it is really hard not to watch people, but I am not one to make fun of someone for being fat, disabled, or something like that. Hell I have pink hair and several piercing on my face, how can I make fun of anyone else.
