I hate "charges"!! **grrrr**

Boy, I need to go to my happy place Today has been a whiney Monday for me.

Cirque du soleil is coming to Philadelphia during Christmas, since me, my son and a few of his cousins are holiday birthdays we decided to get tickets.

Ok ticket price is $84.00 bucks but then they charge a $13.50 per ticket "handling charge". the only problem with that is I'm printing the tickets out at home, so what the heck are they "handling". Oh and a $2.50 delivery charge, and a $3.50 order charge.

I AGREE!! What the heck is the deal with all of the "additional fees" for every stupid little thing they can make up an excuse for?!? If it costs $50 plus $5 for this and $3 for this and $2 for that . . . JUST CHARGE $60!!!

....same with airlines. If it costs $100 for the flight, then $10 for this and $8 for that, and $13 for some other thing, and $4 for this, and $2 for some made up thing . . . JUST ADD IT UP AND GIVE ME A FLAT CHARGE TO PAY!!

I know nobody important (that can change any of this) is reading, but it's fun to get it out of your head and into somebody else's eyes.

Well, they're *handling* your money. And they're *delivering* the pixels to your computer so you can print them using your own paper. That's a lot of work, you know.

I agree! We just went to Cirque in DC the other day and it was a wonderful show, but I hated paying those stupid charges and fees.

Those handling charges are terrible. I wanted to go to a concert last December and the different charges added up to $11 additional dollars on a $15 ticket. That was pathetic.

Can you go to the venue and get the tickets? Around here the venues with a ticket office only charge tax if you are willing to go pick the tickets up there. At least the ones I have bought a ticket at don't charge it at the window, even in advance.

The airline charges I get because the charges are optional... don't need to check a bag, save $, don't need an assigned seat, save $.

DH flew to OH the other day to attend his grandmother's birthday party. The cheapest flight was not to the nearest airport so he rented a car. We got a rental from hertz for a rate of $15 + fees + taxes . We thought this was fantastic. Well DH arrived the other day and picked up his car and the car cost $25.12 after + taxes Doesn't sound so bad but this was for one day - so the fees were almost equal to the cost of renting the car. There were 13 different fees and taxes attached to that rental. Of that $10 additional cost just $1 was for taxes the rest were fees made up by hertz. The one that really killed us was the fill-up fee (which was explained to DH as the fee for providing a car with a full gas tank). The irony of this one is of course is that they informed you at pick up that if you dropped the car off without filling it up they charged you $7.98/gallon for the gas. So we absolutely loved the irony of them charging you for something the previous renter did

When are they coming to philadelphia?? I was looking on ticketmaster and didn't see anything. I would love to go to their show in Philly!!
