I hate cancer

I hate it also. I now have an uncle who has it, and other that just died and his funeral is next week.

My mother and I are both survivors of Hodgkin's Disease. I hated it, but I think I hated the treatments worse than the disease, but if it weren't for the treatments, I am sure that I would not have beaten the disease.

Cancer DOES suck, that is for sure!!!!!

Yes, it's horrible. DD4's best friend has leukemia, so unfair. She told me a few monthes ago that she had a dream that Katie wasn't sick anymore. It just sucks.

Hang in there Sirius, they are making great strides. I am hopeful for the future.

Had it this year

At first hated it too

Learned that hate and fear are negative emotions and kept me sad and afraid

Decided to put a positive spin on it and like to think it's changed my life for the better

Had a birthday Friday and for the first time didn't dread it

Have a new appreciation for things I previously took for granted

Thankful for all the blessings I have in my life

If I can help or lend an ear I'm available

It seems so purposeless...why does it exisit? It just arrives unannounced...why is there such a thing?

DH was diagnosed on Aug 18th. It has been such an emotional road and things really haven't even gotten started. We have an appointment tomorrow with the radiation oncologist (decided chemo/radiation was the best path to take.......if surgery follows later, it won't be as radical as the surgeon wanted to do).

I know the next few months will be hard, emotional, draining, exhausting....................and that's just for me!! I hate to think what my husband will be experiencing. I KNOW this is all being done so that he will have a long and happy life with his family!

It runs in my family my mother has had it and beaten it 2 of my aunts have also beaten breast cancer but one of them now has Colon Cancer. My grandmother (all these are on my mothers side) died from it and so did one of my uncles.

My Mom had ovarian cancer when I was 2. My Father is currently dying with untreatable cancer - but won't talk to me

Runs in my mom's side of the family - hate it with a passion. With all the miraculous things technology can do (the internet for one) - why, oh why, can't they eliminate cancer altogether?

This has been my year too, and it does suck. I go for a check up this week and pray that all will be clear.

The only positive I can see for why it exists is to remind us all occassionally about what is important. I couldn't have asked for better love and support from my DH- if anything, our relationship is 10X stronger for it. And, I learned a lot about the people I call my friends.
