I was cleaning up and heard a "ssssss" sound from the vicinity of the outside hose...I had done laundry but no water was running in the house--so I went into the basement and sure enough, a little pipe from the hose area was spraying into the crawl space and a little into the basement (VERY little thankfully and everything in there is in rubbermaid).
To stop it I had to turn the water off. DH can fix it, but he is at the local "house and home show" for the rest of the day where his company has a booth. I have called a plumber for a free estimate and he is on his way (another plumber wanted $144 an hour, 2 hour minimum!!!) If the estimate is too much I'll just say no and perhaps spend the day with my folks!
Luckily during the panic last week I bought 4 gallons of water--DH laughed at me, but who's laughing now!! The problem is going potty--DD#2 just went at the neighbors, who were glad to let her since DH used his snowblower on their driveway before he left today (once he gets going he'll do 3 or 4 houses). DD#1 can also go over there--we may go out to breakfast so we can all get some out of our systems--DS can always go outside, ha ha.
Just feeling lucky this happened on a weekend and I was home, and that I have good ears! But still, a pain in the rear.
