I had to buy a new cigarette lighter plug for my GPS

and when I plugged it in, there's a small picture of a GPS plugged into a computer and the GPS won't work.

Can anyone explain?

Wow sounds strange, have know idea. If no one knows maybe the co could tell you. Hope you get an answer so if it happens to someone else they will know. Sorry

I believe there are different pin outs in the cables - one configuration tells the GPS it's just connected to power, and another configuration tells the GPS it's connected to a computer.

It mentions Garmin units specifically, but I assume it applies to other GPS manufacturers as well.
