I had the Worst meal & Waiter ever at WCC

It put the dining experience over the line from 'part of the act' way into, 'a nice excuse to be a rude and inattentive'.

Our experience was much the same.....Absolutely THE worst service and some of the worst food i've ever had. Would never consider going back.

In the server's defence, I have to say that he probably wasn't stoned. If he were, he would have been sitting on a nearby table eating 14 skillets and 2 slabs of cornbread. :)

We also had a bad experience in January. Cold food, and bad too. Don't remember exactly, but I believe we were there for close to 3 hours. I'm always willing to give places a second chance, but I still have nightmares about that meal. Shame too, what a beautiful resort. I guess when we stay there in a couple of years, we'll be heading over to the monorail resorts to eat!

Once.. just once and many years ago, and we never went back. I guess I am from the era that when I go out to eat, I want to be treated like I am a welcomed guest at a decent restaurant with good service and decent food. This one was not for us, I feel the same way about Prime Time, I do not get the joke and do not think that humiliating paying patrons for what they order, whether they want ketchup or not, making them stand up and sing I am a little teapot because they did not finish their peas is not what I want to do when I am on vacation at WDW...

I know people think it is hysterical, just not for me, and I think to blame bad service, which I think this OP had, on that this is the show is not what Disney had in mind.. I think it became an excuse for those who truly do not like their castmember role at this restaurant to behave badly.

Of course, this is my opinion....

I agree 100% with you. I don't get the joke either and I don't like the schtick at Prime Time either.

I have ADRs for our trip in November just because I hear so much about it that I wanted to try it, but the more I think about it, I don't want to spend a lot of money for a meal OOP to be humiliated. I can do that on my own for free. :lmao: I was thinking of cancelling because I really want to see Fantasmic that night and was worried that we might not make it back in time, and now I really think that I will cancel because I don't think we're going to enjoy it. Maybe if we ever stay at WL we'll try it because we're right there, but now I don't know.

it's a joke guys . . .

I think everyone here understands the joke and realizes that the comedic routine is part of the meal at WCC. The problem comes when the order is messed up, like the OP's cold food/no refills experience. Instead of dropping the shtick and going into "A+ server mode" for a few moments to fix the problem, they continue to lay on the act. I'm always up for a good time, and we do enjoy eating at WCC, but when you're having a negative experience food-wise, the whole "I'm a cowboy" thing goes over like a lead balloon.

First things first...serve the customer in a timely manner...and be attentive for cripes sakes...no excuse for the bad service...my personal experience at WCC was very good a couple of weeks ago...our server for dinner, an older woman whose name escapes me, was very attentive while going light on the shtick...the food was decent, not great but tasty nonetheless....but we left there very satisfied with all aspects of the dinner....same thing at PrimeTime....Uncle George treated us very well....sorry for your bad experience.

I went to WCC and had a bad time of it also and if we ever go back there, it will be because a new guest of ours wants to try it. We were all okay with the pranks but they actually called one of the people at our table stupid when he couldn't decide right away what he wanted to order. They served us quickly and didn't come back until dessert. They "slopped us like hogs" and didn't bother again to see if we needed anything. I just don't see what all the great reviews are from that place.

We were at WCC just this past Saturday. Our service was horrible as well. Our waitress, while good in the acting department, was SO slowwww! She too would disappear for a good 15 minutes or more at a time. The food and such were great, typical good night there, but she just didn't care too much, service was seriously lacking.

The waiter and waitresses at WCC are SO hit or miss. We have dined there and had servers who did nothing, nada as far as the theming. No ketchup jokes, etc. We have also been hearded into the back area with our kids, which was a total bust (the second time I refused). I don't dig the food enough to chance it again.

I am in agreement.

Recently we dined at Prime Time, and on being seated told our server that we would really prefer not to have the 'act'. She thanked us, and spent the next hour providing very attentive service and having conversation with us as well as the older couple next to us, who also did not want the 'act'. She actually told us that it was a relief as it often became 'old' to her too, especialy when she needed to focus on serving during a rush (which was good to hear)

I ate at WCC earlier this year, and again told them 'no act please'. This simply resulted in almost no service at all, with items plunked down loudly on the table, no return visit to see if my meal was ok (it was NOT and wasn't even what I ordered). To their credit the manager did offer to get me something after the fact, but it was too late to redeem themselves. I've had too many similar experiences there to consider a return visit in the near future.

I also agree with Mackey Mouse; I have no intention of eating at either WCC or '50s because of the "acts"--particularly WCC. It doesn't sound funny, and from what I can tell, sometimes they use it an excuse for bad service.

It saddens me to read all of the bad experiences at WCC. WCC is one of our favorite restaurants and we make sure we eat there at least once each trip. We have only had one time that we had less than great service and even then the food was still good but the server was more than a little good at disappearing for long periods of time. WCC is not for everyone. I have a sil that went with us once and she said that she'd never go back because she didn't like the noise level which is kinda funny in an ironic way since my ils, all of them, are loud people.

Bad/unattentive service, cold/bad food is unacceptable and definately not "part of the show". And I really hope this is not a new trend happening at WCC. :guilty:

we had breakfast there and the servers were very attentive and the food was good....
we ate very early so there were very few people there at the time....perhaps this made a difference..

All of you have me a little leary about my ADR's for Nov. at both the WCC and Prime Time. :sad2: I haven't been to WDW in a few years and We have never had the DDP before. I hope that these 2 places don't ruin what maybe our last family vacation of just the four of us,and our 10 year anniversary celebration.:scared:

The one time we ate there (WCC, for late lunch, no reservations) I told the waitress (an older woman) that we were too tired and hungry for any act. She was pleasant about it and gave us good service. The food was ok (I do not expect great food at such places).

I needed catsup but I was leary of the waitress's ability to resist going into automatic 'showtime'. I saw the waiter's and waitress's load up another customer's table with catsup bottles, so I went over and asked if I could borrow one; they told me to take all I wanted.

Its unfortunate that some people have bad experiences. But this can happen at ANY restaurant anywhere. If the waiter was that bad, his name should have been taken and a complaint filed. If this waiter is as bad as he was at this time, then complaints need to be made so that management can handle the situation correctly. Tipping the guy only $.25 either a) shows him he is doing a bad job and he will work on it or b) he thinks you are jerks and thinks he didn't do anything wrong, but never makes it to management.

Almost every restaurant in WDW has gotten good and bad reviews. If you have a bad experience then you can choose to not go back, but not everyone has bad experiences.

There are also a lot of people out there who have had great experiences, I am one. And therefore having the name of the wait staff that did good or bad helps! You can inform other people going to not be seated in a certain person's section.

My experience was great... our waiter was Jeffro, he did not engage in any antics. Am I disappointed, no... maybe next time though. He was attentive, got down and talked to us on eye level... all of our food was great. We are going back again and it is the only restaurant we are returning to for an encore.

We had breakfast there in March. Late seating, walk up w/o ADR. The food and the service were good. My family really enjoyed the act. We will eat there again.

It made it to management by the Hostess, Snail Mail and Private E-Mail

I believe this whole thread will be making it to management at WCC. Looks like they need to change something at WCC.

The Rudeness and lack of customer service needs to end. It is not "CUTE" being ignored by your waiter or called stupid if you take more than 30 seconds to decide what you want to eat.

I am still waiting for my soda.

If this waiter is still there next month I will get his name. The one on his name tag not the made up name he used for us. "Cowboy Bob or Bill" I called him Where's Bob now

We ate there twice for dinner. I ordered the skillet the first time. The only descent thing was the ribs and the mashed potatoes. The chicken was bad, the shrimp wasn't edible. We tried it again since we were staying at the WL and didn't have an adr for dinner. This time I ordered just the ribs. It wasn't edible. It looked like it was left over from the previous nights dinner. I also ask our waitress for corn instead of the beans, never got it. My daughter wanted the big straws, never got it. I would never go back there again.
