I just returned from a week at Walt Disney World. I've been visiting for a number of years, and had the absolute worst day I can recall in quite some time.
I arrived fairly early (Deluxe guest, so entered at 8:30), and was lucky enough to be one of the first to enter Fantasyland.
But by the time I entered the line for SDMT, the attraction was experiencing technical issues. I did eventually ride, but not until 9:30-ish, so by the time I had exited, crowd levels were high. So, I took a boat to Polynesian Village and relaxed on the beach. On my way out, I caught a proposal.
Not wanting to return to the crowds at Magic Kingdom, I decided to spend half a day to resort hop, and walked over to the Grand Floridian, at which point I had the pleasure of seeing the beginning of a wedding reception.
Now regretting my decision to waste half a day resort hopping, I finally returned to Magic Kingdom once wait times dropped for most attractions. On my way in, I stopped for a few minutes to enjoy the enterainment on Main Street.
... but by the time I made my way to Splash Mountain, a large rain cloud... with lightning... had formed. Expecting Splash Mountain to close any moment, I decided to just hang out around Frontierland.... when, out of nowhere, a Cavalcade came out. Great, now I'm soaking wet, and not even from Splash Mountain.
When the rain clouds cleared, Splash Mountain re-opened, greeting me with a walk-on.
My day had become so screwed up with timing, that when I got off Splash Mountain, I realized that my dinner reservation was in just five minutes. I was absolutely soaked (from both the rain and Splash Mountain)... not wanting to spend $30 on a t-shirt, I skipped dinner and opted for ice-cream and people watching on Main Street.
As the day winded down, and crowds began forming on Main Street, I took a quick ride on the PeopleMover... only to have it stop almost immediately after they claim that the PeopleMover never stops.. just my luck!
By the time I got off, crowds around Main Street were insane, so I decided to walk through Fantasyland/Frontierland, at which point I caught a pretty secluded area to watch Enchantment (near the exit of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad).

If you haven't been able to tell already, there was a bit or sarcasm while creating this post. Spending a considerable amount of time on these boards, there seems to be quite a lot of pent up anger/frustration against Disney due to a number of recent executive/operational decisions being made from the top. While I don't disagree with that anger/frustration (I have voiced it myself, in several respects), what I will say is that, despite the drastic changes in the past several months, my worst day at Walt Disney World is still better than any day not spent on property.
Thank you for reading along!
