I Had Surgery....

on Thursday and I NEVER realized how much we used our stomach muscles until my GYN cut in to mine!! I had a laparoscopy because my GYN thought I had a mass on my ovary and wanted to make sure it wasn't cancerous. I haven't had children yet so I wanted her to make absolutely sure everything was okay. If it was cancer I agreed with her to remove that left ovary. However, when my surgery was over Thursday, she went out and told my DH that I was leaving with everything I came in with! There is a mass there, behind my ovary, but nothing to worry about so that's the end of that. Today is the first day that I've really felt over 50%. I was ready to cry mommy on Thursday as that feeling of being nauseous really kicked me in the butt! One of the pills she prescribed for me made me feel miserable and DH told me he wasn't letting me take it anymore! (He was a great little mini doctor!!) I'm just glad all is well, but I can do with all the hospital bills that are going to pop up now. I do have insurance, but still, I HATE the bills!
Well, I'm glad to be hanging out here again with my DIS friends! Hope you all are doing well.

Oh my gosh, Denise--I had no idea you were going to have surgery. Glad it's over and that all turned out to be OK. Also glad you're beginning to feel better. Take care and get lots of rest! ;-)

Take care of yourself. They probably told you this at the hospital, but try not to bend or lift for a while. I hope your recovery is speedy!

Ugh...did they go through your belly button? I had an emergency lap about a month ago. They gave me Vicodin, which stinks - is that what you got? Tylenol PM worked wonders for me though. Put me to sleep and gave some pain relief. Maybe you could try that.

Yes they did, and I have a small incision to the left of my belly button where my ovary is. No it wasn't Vicodin, I was warned about that one. This one started with a P and it was HIDIOUS!! The Darvacet did wonders for me and I feel about 80% better today. I return to work tomorrow, we'll see how I do then.

Had that done years ago and I agree with you, it's not fun at all! Hope you're feeling a lot better soon.
