And I've been sitting around with my foot up for 3 days now. I had to check in and see what was going on with the DIS.

Just wanted to send my regards to all the Florida DISers who may have been touched by those awful storms.:grouphug:

We just discovered that my husband has one. When do you have to have it removed? Does it have to grow and/or hurt? Any info?

Hope you feel better.:grouphug:

Do you have any pics to share??:confused3 :teeth:

If you really want....:rotfl:

Actually, it's under a cast. Even I can't see it thankfully.:cool1:

I think they recommend you get it removed if it becomes painful, either when walking or not. Mine caused pain on the ball of my foot when I walked. It also looked kinda ugly.:scared1: Now, according to the doc, I'll have a lovely straight foot.;)

But it hurts right now - gotta go pop a pain pill.;)

:thumbsup2 better living thru chemistry:banana:

hope you feel better soon!

:goodvibes :goodvibes Bunion surgery was one of the best things I have ever done for myself:goodvibes

Question--I developed a small bunion and on top of it--seems to be a plantar wart according to a podiatrist friend of mine...

When you say yours got ugly---what did it look like and how big was your bunion and where was it located?

(Curiosity--I know...see a doc...I have had my OB look at it....nothing I can really do about it right now anyway)

:confused3 Are you sure it isn't a corn?

:rotfl: I keep reading the title as "BRAIN SURGERY"....and can't stop thinking "wow....DISing already?" :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Pretty sure of the bunion part b/c it is the bone that has the pain...not the skin. It developed over a year ago.

The questionable skin growth occurred a few weeks ago--I just googled "corns" and it looks nothing like the pictures and doesn't seem to have those characteristics.

It's characteristics are consisent with a plantar wart including the center.

Best of luck and a quick recovery! I have known people who have had ONE bunion done, they often don't go back for the second. OUCH!

Well corns have centers as well. I know I thought I was getting a wart, but no it was a corn.

I have never heard of a wart on a bunion! Just the thought~eeeww!!

One of my DD's need to have both feet done. She is thinking of having them both fixed at the same time to get it over with. Has anyone done this?

I had a college friend who had both done at the same time. It was incredibly painful and was a longer recovery than she expected but she's glad she did it. Especially since she said if she had only done one she may not have gone back to do the other!
