I had a code but it doesn't seem like a deal...

The CM told me there was a code attached to my name, and I could travel at any time. He did not want to tell me what the rate was, but I told him we were already booked through AAA, so he said it was a room only code for $82 a night for a value resort during value season. That doesn't seem like much to me. I guess I am just venting, thank for listening.

I had gotten a card in the mail about that, and I have to agree, it didn't seem like much of a deal to me either. But I guess a few bucks is a few bucks. :confused3

Sorry, that's not a deal at all. That's rack at a Value during Value Season.

Come on, Disney - how about some REAL deals?!! :confused3

It is not a deal, it is regular rate for value season. They are trying a marketing campaign to make you think you are getting a deal. I got the same deal in the mail, and the wording says you'll save 15% over the price as it was for that time in 2006, but Disney changed their value season dates this year from last, so where last year it wasn't considered value season, this year it is. They are not claiming a discount at this years' prices, just comparing it to last years'. Nice try Disney, but I'm not biting!!

Boy they are really pushing this. Between the ads, the postcards and now telling people they have a code to their name. Hopefully when people hear this they will realize that this is just the rack rate.

What really surprised me though, was that the CM did not want to tell me what the discount was without trying to convince me to book. I told him I had a package booked with AAA, but if the code was better I could always cancel and rebook. Then he dicided I could find out about the "code". He also was not the friendliest CM either. He seemed put out that we booked with AAA.

I booked thru AAA for my mom and sister right after Thanksgiving.
They got Movies for $55/night. I booked it for them in January, not sure if there was a code or not, but it's a great rate!!!

that's not a great rate....but I would bet they sell them though - not everyone is as dilligent as DIS'ers are!

They way I have to look at this is that Disney has already discounted the rooms by 15% by moving up the value season and I got a 20% off discount with AAA, therefore I have a 35% discount. Now I just have to convince myself of this.:rotfl:

I have no idea what the rack rate was last year for the same time frame so I really can't compare what I am paying now to last year. Also, I don't know how much if any the rates went up from 2006 to 2007. So the 15% may really just might be a wash.
