I tried this morning to get a PS at LTT before MVMCP(Dec. 6)--I was on hold for 11 minutes! And then all she had left was 8:50PM!
I guess I will book a late lunch somewhere else at MK, after the parade I guess, but have budget cuts affected Disney dining as well? I have never been on hold that long!

Did you tell them it was for the MVMCP?? When I called Friday they told me the latest was 8:15, and I told her it was for the MVMCP and she said that was a different screen and then she came back and said yes, what time would you like.? Call back and ask for the Party Screen!!!! Hurry!! If you are calling for the 6th.....

You may also want to eat at one of the monorail restaurants. We will be eating at 'Ohana at 5 pm the night we are going to MNSSHP. We also did this 2 years ago before the MVMCP, and it worked out great!

They have been selling dinner packages with MVMCP since they went on sale. They more than likely have sold the times you want already. We are doing MVMCP on Dec 8 and there is a mega mini meet at Chef Mickeys at 5PM.

Thanks for the info Wenpop, I did try again but they still only had 6:45--not acceptable since I don't plan to spend the MVMCP time (extra $$$) at a restaurant. I was actually thinking of hopping over to the Kona cafe, since it is one of DH's favorites.

Yes, they may have sold out the ones that they had open, but they opened more tables 60 days out, so I"m sure you can get a table if you would just call back today...
Good Luck! Let Us Know!!

Oh, both these calls were this morning! I called at 7ish, and again at 8;15 after I read your post. The first time the operator said "you know this is with characters, right?" So sometimes I just wonder about the staff down there.

We're eating at Ohana this year. We also have a 5p.m. seating. Last year we did Kona. It worked out great. We don't like to the food at the LTT much, and Kona Cafe and Ohana are two of our favorites! We have been to the Halloween and Christmas parties twice each now, and we always eat at the Poly and then hop on the monorail. No problems.

I dont know about budget cut backs affecting dining, but I can tell you it sounds like they are short handed. This was listed in the Sept 19-Oct. 2 Eyes and Ears (the cast "newspaper")...

"Cast members can invite their friends and family members to become full or part time reservation sales agenrs at the Disney Reservation Centers in Orlando or Tampa......"

So they must be hiring lots of people if they put in an ad like this i would think.

Well I booked the Kona for 5PM, so I think it will all work out. We'll do MK that day and just take a monorail ride over for dinner, then back to MK.

In 2000, my 2 DD, my mom, and I visited Disney the Thursday AFTER Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time!

On the evening of MVMCP, we ate at the GF Cafe. When we were ready to go over to the MK, we went to board the monorail and it was PACKED!!! We barely squeezed in.

Be sure to allow extra time in case you don't make it onto the first monorail.

Last year, we had gone to the Wilderness Lodge and took the boat to the MK (we were actually going to do some resort hopping), but they were already letting people in for the party!!

Have a great time - we'll be back on Dec 5.

The first time the operator said "you know this is with characters, right?" So sometimes I just wonder about the staff down there.

There are many people that may not know that LTT is a character meal at night, since it isn't for lunch. I think it is nice that they are letting guests know, since some people may want to stay away from character type meals. Let's try not to be so hard on CRO!

You do realize that a TON of people are going to be booking LTT before MVMCP in order to be in park when the party starts, and this is probably why you are having such a hard time finding a ressie at the time you want? This has nothing to do with cutbacks or budget cuts.

Also, to second eeyore0062's comment, a lot of people do not realize that LTT dinner is a character meal ONLY and therefore you must pay one set price for the Patriot 's Platter dinner and cannot order anything different off the menu. Price is $ 20.99 adults and $ 9.99 for children. They also charge a $ 5.00 entertainment fee if you are not eating. See http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_ltt.htm for details.

This happened to my friend back in April and she was NOT happy because all she wanted was a salad. :( I think it is great that the CRO was kind enough to remind you. :teeth:

I wish I could convey the attitude with which that was said. It did not sound like a "for your information " comment. It made me feel like an idiot.
I was just wondering since I hadn't called for any reason since I booked my July PSs in May--thought maybe they had hired some new people--guess I was right. Luckily I only need a few for our quick trip, and don't have to call again until next spring.
