I still dont see the race connection...I would think the stock took a hit bc of the connection of people wearing/buying the clothes and watching the show or the fact that A&F gave up free advertising by having these TV show people wear there stuff. I would think it is more a business decision then a race thing.

Even if related to the advertising ploy, the drop is certainly not a result of the conclusions you formed.

I am not a fan of Jersey Shore or A&F.
I'm calling publicity stunt on this one though. I don't believe for a minute that a company that puts out soft porn-ish catalogues and sells thongs and push up bra bikini tops for preteens really cares that much about their image that they don't want to be associated with the trash that is the Jersey Shore cast.
This is good advertising for them.

I freely admit it's been 14 years since I was a college student, but I don't remember the majority of them acting like the cast of Jersey Shore. And the few that did, I chose not to associate with.

The stock price has gone down today due to profit taking after their recent run-up and because there have been a series of analyst reports the past couple of days predicting an extremely anemic revenues from back to school and holiday shopping seasons due to economic conditions.

I'm fairly confident that Wall Street doesn't give a crap whether or not A&F clothes the cast of Jersey Shore.

This isn't exactly unprecedented. I seem to remember Ed Hardy issuing some sort of of comment on how they wished Jon Gosseling would quit running around in their stuff because they felt it tarnished the brand.
