It was one of the coolest things I've ever done!! And it was free!

I don't know what kind of mailing list DH is on, but evidently it is one where they think we have too much disposable income. We were invited to attend an introduction to a new lake communtiy they are building on one of the nicer lakes here in SC.:snooty: They offered lunch (very nice buffet), open bar, music, boat rides, helicopter rides, kids stuff, so we said, why not? We drove out there, and it was a very beautiful area. We ate, drank, played with the (gasp) clown, took a boat ride around the lake, and rode on the helicopter around the lake for about 10 minutes. Very cool.. Not even a sales pitch unless you approached the sales person-they were very busy..They sold 43 lots out of 105 ( I think) and gave away as a drawing a BMW SUV to one of the 43 purchasers that day...We did not buy, although it was tempting..

The lot prices started at $200,000 (inland-about 1 acre) and went up to $1.8M (1.46 acre on the lake)....:earseek: Yes, folks, that is LOT ONLY, NO MANSION INCLUDED...

Darn, and I forgot my checkbook!

Anyway, it was a very nice day, and it was all free!! ;)

That is so cool! It sounds like it was even worth the annoying sales pitch thing. :D

I'm jealous, I've always wanted to ride in a helicopter!:D I never got to do it in Hawaii!:sunny:

I wasn't even going to ride because just a few days ago a horrible helicopter accident occured very near here-ambulance helicopter, all 4 occupants were killed. I don't know what made me do it, I guess it being a once-in-a-lifetime thing, but we went ahead and did it. I let out a little "roller coaster" whoooo when we took of f(involuntarily), and the pilot turned around with a big smile...(I wanted to tell him to turn around and watch what he was doing, but I didn't want to make him mad.) It was very surreal..

The only reason we got a sale pitch is because DH was curious. Otherwise we could have walked out without listening to any of them..

That reminds me of that hot air balloon incident in Baltimore over the weekend. No one was hurt, but the balloon went out of control.

I would still love to do the helicopter thing. It would be so cool to fly over the volcanoes in Hawaii too.

I would ask you for the mailing list info., but I doubt that I'm in the income bracket!
:D
