I got to meet Dan and Willy!

What a fun night. Dan was just as I imagined him. Just like the "exiting restroom" photos I have seen posted here. Willy looks the same too and even came complete with his Nyquil. A big bottle. Hey, I didn't get any of that at the pool party.

Towncrier and his terrific family were the first to recognize us. We met about 3 years ago. Maybe even 4 years ago. Wow, time flies. Oldkicker and his wife gave us a lot of travel tips for NY. They have a couple lovely daughters too. The rest of the kids I didn't get to meet till they were wet. I don't know about you but one wet kid looks pretty much like another to me. We followed Dec. 99 and Dr.P around the gift shop. Leave it to DISsers to find a restaurant with a gift shop.

I have never seen so much green in my life. Yepod (is that spelled right?) hit the dollar store and cleaned them out of green frisbees, footballs, and super soakers. The kids had a ball, uh, John too. Did you know Towncriers' float?

Pembo and her DH seemed to be enjoying the evening child free. A lot of us can relate to that!. My DH and Pembo's were busy talking up a storm. Hey, can we blame them for those black clouds and lightening? It rained so hard when it started the driving was really tough.

I know I am missing a lot of people I met. I was a little afraid to go around the pool cause it would have been really easy to get wet. Real wet, fast.

Wish we could join them tomorrow and Sunday but we have some family things we have to attend. Have a safe trip home and hope the weather improves for you guys out there.

It was so funny - we had basically 'taken' over the pool, all of the kids in the pool with toys - the rest of us sitting in every chair and another guest would come down to pool, take one look and just go back to their room

HauntedMansionGeek-It is a little intimidating at first and sometimes it feels like everyone else there knows more about the boards than you but then you meet someone and become fast friends! All I can say is try to go to a meet sometime. It really is fun.

I hope someone got pics of the lime green pool. It was very interesting to say the least.

RNMOM-Our dh's sure did chat alot and that storm was pretty nasty but not as bad as the one that hit Cedar Point on Saturday.

It was a fun weekend............

Cordia, it was GREAT meeting you and hubby!!!!! And he got together with your hubby on that weather thing???? I tought I had Pem's hubby all buttered up for good weather with the Big Guy upstairs, LOL. And you were not intimindated, Pem!!!!! And it was wonderful seeing so many nice DIS folks all in one place, a REAL treat for sure. Looking forward to RC II. And Amber, you are nuts, LOL.

Well, HMG, I went to Riddlecon without knowing many of these people prior to the event. It took me a long time to hit submit on the hotel reservation, know what I mean? But the draw of Top Thrill Dragster was strong. It wasn't running most of day I was there and guess what... somehow it didn't matter at all!!

I had only met WillyJ and Saffron (great to see you guys!) prior to the meet. And like lots of us here I had come into direct contact on the boards and in PMs with the Dan Murphy (great to get that bear hug, Dan!). I "knew" very few others just through different threads. I was warmly welcomed by all!!

And I had a blast getting to know some great people!!

CP was fun! Thank you to Towncrier for all the inside info! He and his DD really knew their way around CP. Rode Millenium Force with TC and his DD. I have a new favorite coaster! WOW! Thanks for the button, too, John!

Rode several rides with Marla and HelenaBear! Great to meet you ladies!

I met tons of other fabulous DISers. The hardest thing was remembering names. 'Cause everybody's got TWO of them!

Sorry I didn't make it to the Ponderosa! We were ready to go at 9 and had so far to drive, we got on the road. Hope you had fun!

This was a fantastic time and I hope it becomes a tradition! And if you've never been to a meet, screw up your courage and go. You won't be sorry!!!!!

Cordia, it was definitely my pleasure to meet you, and I'm so glad we got the chance to visit before the storm hit Friday evening. . . hopefully next year things will work out where you can spend all 3 days with everyone!!


It's too bad the storm cut things short Friday, but as soon as Bernie stripped down to his swim suit something like that was bound to happen. .



It was a total blast seeing everyone this weekend. . . can't wait until next year!
