Pixie.... I can see it now.....

"Mom... Why do we have to wear green Mickeys?" Followed by...

Why are there Green Mickeys sewn into my undies?

I understand the Green Mickeys at WDW but do I have to wear them to the prom?

Mom I will not drive a car covered in Lime Green Mickey's!

So if the blanket is pink it's a girl, blue, it's a boy.... What does Lime Green mean? :p

Right back at ya sweetie! :p

I got some of those cute Lime Green Mickey's at Home Depot too.
If you soak the card in hot water for a few seconds the paint chip comes right off. Then you have a nice Mickey head that is much thinner than when it is glued to the cardboard. Peggie

Peggie... Thanks for the tip :)

I am re-decorating our computer room in a disney theme and that will help bunches ;)

Wish me luck!

:3dglasses

So once I soak the Mickey head off the card, how can I get them on my backpack? Would fabric glue work? Or craft glue???

Maggie

Maggie...

One thought might be the double sided iron on transfer paper? I use it all the time for projects..Hope yours comes our great! We are just laminating and hanging ours from all the fanny packs and back pack..:)

Pixie

I like your idea better! I will just laminate them, punch a hole in them, and string it to the zipper on the backpack and fanny pack! Thanks!

If anyone is going to be in WDW Nov. 22- 27, look for my beautiful Home Depot Mickey heads! It will be me, DH (grumpy) and 2 little princesses (11 & 8).

Maggie

Maggieeeeeee

I will be looking!! We are going to be there the 22-29th!

Look for ours.....we will be the loud ones..that just stop and stare and laugh for no apparent reason....

DH (the one eating all the Mickey Bars he can get, carrying the endless cameras and making me laugh every opportunity he gets)..

DS 17, (will be holding the cell phone to his ear, missing his girlfriend, and pretending that he isnt really in love with all the WDW princesses)

DD 12, (she is one waving her arms about in mock cheer motions, trying to hide the ID tag I make my kids wear)

DS 12, (he is one trying NOT to get backhanded by his twin sister's cheer movements...and will have his ID tag hanging in an OBVIOUS place, cause he is a goober.....prob will be teasing his little sister)

DD, 5 (the one jumping around wanting to see Cinderella and oohing and ahhing at every little thing)

and last but not least ME, the one pushing the stroller that probably wont get used and will be stopping at each moment to see the gleam in all their eyes!! We all have the green heads!!

Hope we get to see each other Maggie

WP - you sound like a fun group! :)

Enjoy, and write a trip report - it's bound to be funny!

I'll be there about the same time as you other Thanksgiving travelers, so I'll be careful to try and spot the Mickey Heads. I'll also have an 8 year old trying to avoid his sisters cheer motions, wonder at what age they stop practicing and being so darn peppy about it...LOL

Are the Mickey Heads still available or was this a short-term thing? I did buy some lime green ribbon (the only lime green ribbon in the store: the sales girl gave me a funny look when I asked her if this was all they had ) and was going to attach to my backpack and so forth. Drop me a note please--I'm running out of time. I'm halfway done packing!!!

I'm dancing..I'm dancing.....

If you go to the paint department at Home Depot by where they have all the paint swatches, there is a Disney brand of paint that makes their paint swatches in the shape of a Mickey head!

Maggie

At WDW last month I was spotted by another DISboards poster, who saw the Home Depot Mickey pinned to my baseball cap. I had planned on also wearing some lime green ribbons, but at the last minute, simply safety-pinned the paint swatch to the front of my cap. A few CMs also asked me about it. They hadn't even heard of DISboards.com! :sunny: :wave2:

As a plug for the DIS store, the DIS t-shirts are also good ways to get recognized! ::yes::

My son's room is painted Galatic (sp) blue and there are several "hidden mickey's" in his room.

I took the sample paint chips, cut them out and glued a few of them (in the same color) on the walls.

I took my pin trading logo and printed off a copy to place in the middle of the Mickey head on the card. I then took Disney stickers from my scrapbooking stuff and covered all the writing on the cards. I made them 2 sided and laminated them today at Kinkos. I have punched holes in them and plan on using key rings to attach them to zippers on our backpack and camera bags. I think they will also attach to our pin lanyards. I hope to see some of you in the parks from 12/14 through 12/20. Mickey

Thanks for the info.---I'm off to the Depot. Have a great day!!:)
