I just received the new Birnbaum's Disney Cruise Line 2005 book last night and flipped through it for a few minutes. From what I read so far they give reviews on the off shore excursions and all the little info bits that first timers need. If anyone has any questions I can talk about it tonight after I com home from the Yankee game. definitely worth the 10.99 from amazon and it's kind of pocket sized as well.

I thought it was cool that it's smaller. You could fit it in your back pocket (sort of).

I got mine last night and read through it - it's not bad but as a soon to be first-time Disney cruiser I think the Passporter Guide is much better in terms of specific information, especially for a first-timer.

really!!! I'll have to pick that one up as well. this coming Feb will be my first cruise.

Yes! Definitely pick up as much info as you can find. For our 1st ever cruise (which happened to be a Disney Cruise ;) ) I bought the Passporter and several 'unofficial' books and read every single word!! I also learned of this website and spent many hours pouring over threads, getting all the advice I could!! It paid off. We felt so comfortable - like we'd been there many times before! We knew the exact procedures for Palo, spa ressies, signing kids up for the clubs, & all the important stuff! We knew just what to pack (although we did over-pack as many people do!)

Dave's site is invaluable for putting all the information at your fingertips. Spend time on that site, definitely: www.dcltribute.com

Finally, make sure you join the thread that is specific to your cruise date. You'll "meet" your fellow cruisers, get an idea of their plans, and if you're lucky like my family was, you'll end up meeting a family who will become your friends during AND after the cruise!! Good luck and watch out - DCL is addictive!!! ;)

I just ordered it from overstock.com for $7.99 plus $1.40 shipping. Couldn't beat that price.

Thanks,

Reneé
