I got 2 weeks in DVC this September from an RCI trade last November. One week in a 2BR at BCV and one week in a 2BR at OKW. I wasn't thrilled about having to move mid-trip, but it's our first WDW trip and coming from the west coast with 4 kids, we knew we wanted a 2 week trip and it was a huge $$ saver being able to stay DVC. Then today I got some pixie dust.....my 2nd week came open at BCV for $50 cheaper trade fee! So I switched my ressie from OKW to BCV and now I'll have 2 weeks at BCV, Stormalong bay, and easy travel to 2 out of 4 parks. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Incredible! 2 weeks in a row at BCV - gotta love the RCI trades! We're DVC members but are trading in for an extra week at OKW next month.

:woohoo: I am so excited for you! BCV is awesome. We have reservations for 10 days right ahead of you in July. I can't wait!!! :cloud9:

Congratulations!

....and everyone told me I had almost no shot of getting a 2BR in DVC on an RCI trade.... :p

Since you've sucessfully traded with RCI for Disney, do you know where I can find good information on RCI trades? I am a DVC member and looking to buy more points, but I also own Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Wyndham is beautiful, but I love the Disney magic more. We go 4-5 times a year (mostly at DVC resorts). The one and only time I exchanged, I found out later that I could have traded less points in and gotten 2 weeks out of my points instead of 1. That's because everytime I spoke with a rep, they gave different answers. I also saw that RCI has a lot of Disney vacations for sale/cash, but since I don't have any points deposited with them at this time, they can't tell me any availability for trade.

Thanks for any help

In addition to owning DVC, we bought a timeshare nearby several years before we knew anything about DVC, and we trade with Interval International. I know their policy is you cannot trade within the same area. Believe me, we have tried. However, we just use our "offsite" timeshare for trading to other areas of the country. Good luck, I hope you are able to do it with RCI.

My parents own a Wyndham timeshare and finally I was able to convince my mom to let me look at everything on line since she really has no clue how it works (I know not a good thing but now I can help her). I was very surprised to see quite a few DVC listed on her RCI exchanges including 2 bedroom units at BCV!!! I was able to get my niece 7 nights at OKW 1 bedroom this summer from my mom's points and my niece is used to staying at the all-star resort so she is going to be blown away. Now I know we can get dvc I am keeping a close eye on her time share and trying to educate myself more. The 7 nights at OKW did not even put a small dent into mom (and dads) points!

3Minnies1Mickey awesome ressie! I cannot wait until my youngest is done with highschool and travel dates are more flexible! (2 more years)

If you own in Orlando area you can't trade into DVC. I haven't looked too much into their cash vacations.

We own Worldmark and found that RCI was a good use of our points. We own enough points for a week in a 2BR in RCI and most of our local WM resorts. But if we wanted to use it for Disneyland and stay in our WM Anaheim we wouldn't have enough points for a week in a STUDIO!!

I do know I can trade for another Orlando resort, because the one and only time I did deposit, I used the next year for the Sheraton Vistana right outside Downtown Disney. When I booked that, I had asked about Disney, but there wasn't availability then. They didn't tell me I couldn't trade for Disney, but they did say I couldn't get my home resort of Bonnet Creek. I only deposited, because I bought and got the points late in the year and they were going to expire. I am not sure how to deposit points if I decide to do that again. I thought I had to deposit a large amount of points to be able to trade for another great resort, but later told I could have split those points I deposited and gotten 2 weeks at the Vistana. I don't know how many points I have to deposit to trade for Disney and I never get a clear answer from RCI.

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.
