Tell everyone your favorite story about a time you had good luck at WDW. Maybe you finally stumbled across an elusive character; maybe you got to be a grand marshal for a parade. Who knows. Some of you like to call it getting sprinkled with pixie dust. Whatever you want to call it, tell everyone the story that will make them envious -- hopefully in a good way -- of your good fortune.

Here's ours. When my wife and I decided to make our reservations in late February, we didn't know nearly as much about WDW and planning our trip as we know now. In late February my wife called for an ADR at CRT breakfast for some day in the week of May 3-9. At the time, we hadn't heard all the stories about people calling at 7:00 a.m., 180 days in advance, only to learn that the ressies were booked by 7:02. Somehow, we managed to get a ressie for 6 on Saturday, May 6. Not sure how that worked out, but we're thankful that it did.

I can't wait to tell our three daughters, but the entire trip is a surprise.

Tell me a story of your good fortune.

The one that comes to mind (because it just happened yesterday) was the fact that 3 months or so ago, I made an ADR for CRT of 4/22. It was just a Saturday out of the blue that I picked (we are local). So anyway, as DD and I got more and more into character "hunting" I started hearing about Jiminy Cricket and the fact that he is relatively rare, and then some talk that he was out and about on Earth Day? Well, we get to MK yesterday, and what do I see, but a sign that says Jiminy will be available for pics from 10-4 - practically right next to the castle - we were done our b-fast, and waiting in line with a few other folks by the time he arrived! This was too easy - I had visions of having to go to EPCOT or AK to find him! It's the little things that make me happy sometimes!!! It was nice to be able to add this "rare" (at this time) character to our collection!

We found the paint brush on Tom Sawyer's Island. :goodvibes

BTW, I'd LOVE to see Jiminy Cricket! He's one of my favorite characters.

Mine was when my lovely DH forgot the reciept and ticket for the paid double stroller in the hotel room. Well the lady at the buggy area is listening to me fussing and dh said "lets go back and get it" then I was really fussing when I let him know that we have dinner ressies for in one hour. The sweet lady said she does believe us and let us have the stroller. Thank goodness b/c my kids could not have gone with out it. That , I felt was some pixie dust sprinkled on us. On the last day before we left there was a lady with two bulky strollers with 2 kids on the disney bus and I had 2 extra days all paid for on the double stroller b/c one day we went to water parks and did not need it so I spread some magic and gave her the 2 paid stroller days so she could use them. It felt so good to share the magic, she was very apprecitative.

I've been visiting WDW since the year it opened and have experienced literally hundreds of 'pixie dust' moments :goodvibes . . . but I'd have to say that the luckiest I've ever gotten was in Dec of '04 when DSis and I took our little nephew for our first MVMCP. I only had enough DVC points left to book a standard view studio (not that that's a bad thing ;) ), but when we checked in the CM said, "Well, it looks like you've been given a very nice upgrade to a 1 bedroom water view suite!" :smooth: :thumbsup2 :wizard:

I feel so lucky because...
we recently were able to surprise my kids, their spouses and my grandkids with a surprise all-expense-paid trip to Disney! :goodvibes DH and I are going, too! :thumbsup2

Mine is when we took my in-laws on their first Disney World trip. The planning was agony with trying to make my mother-in-law happy. I love her dearly but she's very picky. For that trip, I booked us in a one bedroom suite at the Boardwalk Villas. She choked at the price but was willing to deal with it. Because of the balcony. She HAD to have a balcony. She always HAS to have a balcony. I didn't have much hope for anything because the price was so extreme and I just got a standard view.

When my husband and I checked in (they were driving, we flew in), I was so concerned. First of all, we were ALLLLLLL the way down and away from the lobby. Just about as far away from anything as you could go. But when I walked into the room, I just about cried. Well, I did cry. We were right above the DVC area (where it used to be). Second floor. We had a boardwalk view and Spaceship Earth to look at every minute of every day. It was THE perfect room for my mother-in-law.

Now, every time we take them back (and, oh yes, it's been several times), she'll walk by the Boardwalk and say "that's MY room".

The day you please an in-law is the day you enter the Spouse Hall of Fame.

That is more than a Disney magic! Some would consider that a DISNEY MIRACLE!

There is one post here about someone having MIL 'concerns' during this upcoming trip I feel for you all!

I wish I could get my MIL interested in anything besides worrying if she is going to fall, die, prick her finger on a spinning wheel ... whoops got mixed up with Sleeping Beauty and I diverse from the subject ... anyway she produced the wonderful man that is my DH ... and here is the magic .... I mean luck:

1st trip planned - I am type A and overplanner -- what is coming our way in February the day we were to depart (via airplane)-- the BLIZZARD OF 06 - AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!

My DH sees the panic, the horror, the possible nervous breakdown that will come if I DON'T GET AWAY from it all and make it to Disney. And he says "let's just drive down -- let's leave NOW!" ... so at 11:00 AM on the Saturday BEFORE the storm we make arrangements with a neighbor to watch cats until SIL can make it in (if she is kept away by the storm) and since I am packed (remember - OVERPLANNER) we jump in the car and have a calm uneventful drive down I95 to WDW. Yes, we stopped at "South of the Border" then stayed in a very nice place in Jacksonville FL. The next day, we arrived in WDW around the same time the plane would have gotten us in (had it left in time and we made it to it!!!) and the POLY had a BEAUTIFUL ROOM overlooking the marina ready for us.

WOW, it was a WONDERFUL start to a truly lovely vacation ... just DH and I ... no relatives (like we normally share on vacations)... and all the CMs everywhere were great too.

My good luck was that we decided to leave before the storm (I would have missed TWO DAYS if we had not) and that I95 was not crowded for some strange reason and that I had the good luck to marry my wonderful DH. (21 years now - I guess I'll keep him)

DS and I were upgraded at HH from a studio to a two bedroom villa. WOW it was great! Also, DS and I were coming out of Seashore Sweets on the Boardwalk and found a twenty dollar bill. Our family also got on the elevator at AKL one evening and this nice lady was covered in Tink pins. We couldn't take our eyes off her. I collect Tink pins and my kids mentioned that to her. She promptly took one off and asked me if I had it, which I didn't and gave it to me. I was thrilled because it was a cast member pin, I didn't even have one to trade, but she didn't care. The elevator opened and she was gone in a blink of an eye. It was magical for us. THAT is what Disney is about, those small moments, the ones you have, the ones you do for others. That is what gives you the goosebumps! pixiedust:

When I was there for the Fourth of July in 2004 I went out early in search of a special Tink pin. No luck. When I returned to POR later that morning, I stopped at the shop area to pick up my merchandise and right there on the counter was that special 4th of July Tink pin just waiting for me. :) How lucky!

Thank you all for posting on the thread. That is the reason I started it -- I enjoy hearing about others' Disney magic.

Our other pixie dust moment for planning this trip was when I found out that I had enough frequent flier miles to get free flights for five out of six of us. When I first checked, I only had enough for two free flights. After booking and paying for four flights, Continental had "released" more frequent flier seats on our flight, and I was able to cancel three of our paid flights and trade them in for freebies. It was only 15 minutes later. I couldn't believe it, and I kept expecting the ticket agent to tell me, "there's been some sort of a mistake." She never did, and all the flights are confirmed.

Honestly, I don't think we could have stayed at the Boardwalk without this good fortune.

On our last trip we decided not to go commando and really enjoy the world. We were in the car exhibit in Epcot and were really into one of the cars. My husband was asking the CM lots of questions and joking with her. As we were about to leave she asked if we'd like fast passes to Test Track. When she gave them to us she explained that they were very special passes and that they would get us into the special employee lounge, where we could take a break, have some free refreshments and watch the ride from a special viewing window. Then we were admitted to imediately onto the ride.
IT really made our day very special. She was one of the CM's that keep so many of us going back. The ones who truely look to spead some pixie dust and make us smile!

My DD6 got to start the Spectromagic parade on 3/26. She was pulled from the crowd along Main St. We were right at the beginning of Main St. facing the castle. The Marshals gave her some pixie dust and taught her a special dance. Just as the parade was to start they did the dance, and at the end of the dance DD6 through the dust in the air, the lights on Main St. went out and the parade started.

The Marshals gave DD6 a special Spectromagic pin for her lanyard after the dance and start of the parade. It was something I will never forget for the rest of my life. (see the pic below)

Went 12/23/05 to 1/2/06. Wekk everyone knows how long lines can be durning the majority of this time frame. Well we get in line for Space Mountain and it had a 70 min wait so we were like ok everything had a long wait. Well about 2 mins later they increased it to 90 mins. All of a sudden this nice young man in his late teens early 20,s (not much younger then me I am 34) came up to my DBF and I and asked if we wanted 2 FPs for Space Mountain (FP x was now)we asked why he said 2 of his family members backed out and decided not to go on the ride. Talk about pixie dust. pixiedust: Saved us from waiting 90 mins. Glad to know there is still nice people out there.

At epcot in test track, I had just got in the car when a cm holds his hand fist closed out to me, at first I thought I must have done something wrong,
but no he said here for you, I held my hand out and he gave me a tinkerbell pin, it mad my cry a bit because it was just so cool.
We we got back , even though the line was full he asked us if we wanted to ride again. AWESOME!

We went to DTD with DD then 18months, we were in the "sport" store and noticed a line to shoot baskets - there were a few kids but there was a CM at the end to close it down. After all the kids had gone through the two CM's took DD, lifted her up, helped her shoot lots of baskets and gave her tons of Mickey stickers, praise and a Magic Moments certificate....it was really sweet!

My daughter and I had our first (of many to come) mother/daughter trips. One of the things that happened was we were waiting for Toon Town to open up to finish getting the remaining autographs we didn't have and Mickey came out grabbed my daughter and they walked arm in arm into his house and then we got lots of pictures and Mickey gave us fast passes to Buzz!

Another thing was at 1900 Park Fare, my dd had to teach everyone the magic words to open the restaurant (Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo) and then the Fairy Godmother escorted us to our table:)

My daughter swears it was the crown that made these magical things happen. One thing I really considered magical was that we arrived at the hotel (All Star Movies) at noon and we actually got to check into our room!

And I got balloons and a magical moments certificate from a front desk clerk for my birthday:)

***this is my 1700th post, woohoo***
