I have done some promos in the past, but I never got a pin. There was another post, here saying to watch for pin offers and it happened to me just this morning, Saturday. I feel lucky, now. I will say I went in December last year and it may be why I didn't receive an offer until now. The e-mail offer is from Disney Destinations.

It's giving me $189/night for a deluxe villa at Saratoga or Key West and it says this is a savings of $116/night which makes this close to a 40% discount; I guess. Also, a studio for these places at $199/night. The e-mail says to call for other rates at other resorts and it also mentions a special package offer being available. It didn't give full details on the special package offer in the e-mail. I will call soon. As I get more details I will post, here. Deadline for the offer is 12-23-08.

One strange thing I noticed with the two offers listed in the e-mail is that dates differ between doing a deluxe villa or studio at these places. So, I have a feeling dates will vary to a degree depending on which offer you take. I have an offer as early as 9/28 and as late as 12-23. Most are short stays of 3 to 4 nights. One period of time though was open for a month's time for the studio rate. The dates are very scattered and will probably be different depending on which place you choose.

If anyone gets an offer now, post your details, here, too. Good luck to all who have been waiting for an offer.

I am so jealous...I have never gotten a pin offer. Thanks for letting me know who it comes from "Disney Destinations"....I keep looking at the Disney Shopping emails they send me DAILY..lol.:rotfl: I hope you can find a time that suits you..Saratoga Springs is a very relaxing resort and is beautiful. Good luck!

I have NEVER gotten a pin code.....just general public discounts :sad2:. But congrats to you on the pin :cool1: :cool1:. I guess since we've gone every year for the past 7 years Disney sees no need to send me an offer to entice me go as they know we'll be there anyway :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:. We are booked at the WL for December so I'm hoping for some sort of room discount :rolleyes1. Thanks for posting this info as it gives me some hope :).

I don't understand this -- $189/night but then you say it says a studio at $199/night. A studio is the smallest room at SSR or OKW, so what is the $189 rate for? Just wondering what they're talking about!

So are pin codes that are 30 - 40% off room rates better than the general public discounts? Just curious. I got a 30% off room rate....we saved $1063....DH still wants me to watch for gp discounts, I told him, I doubted we would do better than what we have now. What do you think?:confused3

I think it's unlikely you will find a better discount for the general public, but you never know ... keep watching anyway -- it can't hurt. 30-40% discounts are about the deepest I've seen ever.

I was wondering the same thing. As far as I know there is no such room classification as a "deluxe villa." We always get offers for OKW and SSR for $159-$169/night for a studio.

A deluxe villa is quite a bit bigger than a studio. SSR is not my favorite themed resort, but it is quite nice and rooms are pretty new.

What I'd do is look over the offer, compare it to rack rates, and see what you get.

The other thing to ask about is if you can get the dining plan plus those rates. often 30% off rates do NOT allow dining plan.

The difference may be between different seasons:
At SSR, November 30 to Dec 18 is Value Season. October 2 through Nov 29 is regular season. After DEc 19 is considered holiday season.

Rack rates are as follows for a studio: value $285, reg $315, holiday $410.

I just called since I also have this E-Mail. There is a difference due to different dates. It also applies to different resorts and packages.
We jsut booked the Poly for 4 nights (package) total came to $2,366. What do people think? Does this seem good? It's room/tickets and meal plan for two adult (and a toddler under 3)

Sounds like a GREAT deal to me! Great job! Have fun!:thumbsup2

I got one too today... in my e-mail. Normally I would be thrilled (I have never received a pin code... EVER). Unfortunately, this year we are going to DL and the pin code is not transferable to DL :sad1: (I called to check, trust me). FYI... these are coming out of Disney Destinations. I signed up there a week or two ago because I read they were sending out postcards with pin codes for DL. It sort of worked... except they sent me a pin for WDW, not DL. Those of you hoping for a pin might try registering there again (even if your e-mail is already in the system... like mine was). Can't hurt.

A deluxe villa is quite a bit bigger than a studio.

I still don't understand this - I own at SSR and there are studios, 1 BR villas and 2 BR villas. Like the other poster said, there isn't a classification called just a "deluxe villa". This is right from WDW's SSR page:

Accommodations:

Villas: maximum 4-8 Guests
Make yourself at home in a spacious Studio (sleeps up to 4), one-bedroom Villa (sleeps up to 4) or two-bedroom Villa (sleeps up to 8).
Studio from $285‡
One-Bedroom Villa from $380‡
Two-Bedroom Villa from $530‡

I assume the offer is talking about a studio at that price, but who knows - not sure how it can be both $189 and $199?

Just make sure you're comparing the right rooms when you're doing your rack rate comparison.

the prices are different for different dates. That is the only difference that I can see. By the way. DH and I have three e-mails and we received this e-mail to all addresses. I thought that was kind of weird.
Also when i called there were other discounts available.
I booked but then rethought it all since i can get a better deal through a relative.

states that both, Saratoga and Key West are deluxe villa resorts. I guess that means they have villas to stay at. It is not a room classification. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I don't know either resort too well; so, it was easy for me to make that mistake.

Both offers in the e-mail are for studio places. The difference in price has to do with the dates you choose.
