Is this the cannon powershot s5 is ? I was looking to buy this one at Circuit City this week because it is such a good deal (399.00) but wasn't sure I would like it. I have a Canon SLR now and I know that I will not have the same quality of pictures but I am tired of carrying that big thing around.
Thanks
Michele

well where are the photos then? practice what you preach!;) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

cool! we had gotten our uncle the S3 for christmas last year and it got destroyed on our recent trip...so we got him the S5 as a replacement and hope he likes it! :)

It's sitting in my living room right now. I got it using a gift card from work, but... I just don't know LOL! I think once I open it I will be fine....:rotfl:

Based on this post I went and checked. Cirucit City was $75 cheaper then I paid. SO this morning I took the first one back (Still unopened) and offered to let the price match. No Go so I got a refund and went to Circuit City. I am going to open it now (it is now under my "pain" threshold LOL!)

Like you I have a Canon SLR. It takes great pictures but I am just not going to get a job as a National Geographic photographer and have decided that for most things I am dumping it LOL. It's been a tough decision, but.....

I have a few first shots...

Nothing special but here are a few...I like the Super macro a lot.

As soon as I have anything else that's more interesting, I'll post them.

So, you like it, Sam? :thumbsup2 :yay:

Very cool, and some great pictures there.

Hope you and Richard are both doing well.

Check out Beachcamera.com and Buydig.com I believe their prices are better and have no tax (unless in NJ) and free ship.

Sam~ what about the criticism of more noise in low light than the S3?? What have you experienced?? I was intriqued by the red eye reduction feature because one of my twins always has red eye in photos even when no one else does.

Hey Sam~ Are you still taking pictures ???:lmao: Curious to what you think. I'm debating between the S3 and the S5.

What did you use before you got the S5???

Sorry but I have not had any time to take photos.
My DH has an acute infection of the cells of the leg (Skin infection) that is severe enough that he has IV antibiotics 24/7 for the last week now and yesterday, my Dad went into the hospital with chest pains.

My Dad got transfered 2 hrs away this morning to the Cardiac unit. They say Agioplasty may not be possible so they may have to operate.

If I did not have these boards, I would lose my mind.

As for comparisson, I had a 2MP Canon A40 before so this is a huge improvement for me.The shots I took above were with no flash, 1600 ISO and I do see the Noise but it's not so bad...

Anyone else have a comparison?

Thanks...

Sending good thoughts and prayers for your DH and your Dad.

just ordered the S5 online from Circuit City and in 30 minutes I will be on my way to get it. I can't wait to start using it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is 399.00 in the store. If you buy in at circuitcity.com and go to the store to pick it up, then it is 354.00. I ordered mine from the website and just got back from picking it up. Now I have to learn how to use it.
