I Got Gas for $1.99 Per Gallon Today

Our regular gas is around $2.07 right now, but I slipped into the Sunoco to see the the posted price of $1.99. They had a sign up that in observance of Veterans Day, they were selling gas "below cost" for the day. Nice!

Well, who knows. But I do know that there are these 4 gas stations all around each other and they all keep their prices the same to compete. They were all at $2.07, while the Sunoco was at $1.99. I expect to see the Sunoco back up to $2.07 tomorrow.

The lowest I have seen in our area is $2.13. I am not complaining after the $3.00+ prices, anything under $2.50 is wonderful.

Prices here have dropped to as low as $2.089 in one area, near DH's work. On the side of town where I work it's $2.159-$2.179. I'm anticipating the prices going below $2.00 in the near future...just in time for the holidays to push them back up.

DH paid 11 cents/gallon on Tuesday a couple of towns over. Yep, that's right.... 11 cents!! Of course the price on the pump was 2.11/gallon and then he used our Giant Eagle Fuel Perks card, which reflected the $2.00/gallon discount we earned from buying so many groceries at Giant Eagle!

Hold on here - you get a $2 per gallon discount because of groceries??? Safeway gives a whopping 6 cents off if you spend $50 but you get $2 off??? That's just not right.

Ahhhh, now - there's a catch (you knew there had to be one!! )

For every $50.00 you spend, you earn 10 cents off per gallon -- you have up to 3 months to redeem your discount. There is a 30 gallon maximum purchase.

I'm in Massachusetts and filled up today @ $2.49 a gallon also (regular!)

There was a gas station owner in Eastern Mass (I think it was Malden) who was charging 97c for regular. In case you are wondering why well he got ticked off at the mayor for not letting him put another exit to his station which would be just cutting the curb. He had only one entrance. So he fixed them all and dropped his price substantially and backed up the traffic for miles just to prove a point. I LOVE it!

I don't have a Giant Eagle near me, but I do have a Safeway.

The lowest I've seen here on Long Island was $2.45.
