I have been checking my reservation for the 9/14 Wonder cruise every day hoping to get a cabin # instead of GTY. There is now a cabin # 6018. I guess I didn't get an upgrade - oh well. Does anyone know anything about this cabin or the area? Is it a good one? Thanks! :)

I guess I did get upgraded after all! I booked a cat 11, but according to the brochure deck plans, cabin 6018 is a cat 8. I am so excited! However, the plan also shows that this is a connected room - has anyone had any problems with this?:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Just wanted to say Congratulations!! Enjoy your upgrade!

Thank you very much! It's a very nice surprise for a first time cruise! I am even more excited now if that's possible!

How do you check your reservation to see if a cabin has been assigned???

Congratulations! We just got back yesterday from our first ever cruise, on the Wonder. We also were upgraded from cat. 11 to stateroom 2012 - a cat 9. DS-almost 3 was absolutely enthralled with the porthole and spent all his stateroom time sitting at it. I think he would have slept there if we let him! Have a great time!

Bronco Joe - go to disneycruise.com and click on reservations, then "check my reservation". You'll need to enter your confirmation # and your phone number, then your reservation info comes up and there is a field for stateroom #.

The suite is very good, though it does have a connecting door and it can be a little noisy at times.

You are just steps from the elevators which was very helpful.

You are just near the wonder sign on the outside of the ship!

And you are right above the adult area, very easy to get to in the evenings, and the shopping, lol.

The hike to the resturants was a learning curve, leave for meals with lots of spare time, one get distracted by the shops and sights on the way to meals, lol.

Have a wonderful time in our most favourite home away from home.

I received my docs today and I got an upgrade on both of our rooms. I can't wait to go. At least there is this website to pass the time with other anxious cruisers.

I am a little confused? But first let me say congratulations on your upgrade!!!!!!

Okay - here are my questions/concerns

We specifically booked our room based on its location. It is a category 11 near the Oceaneers Lab!

While many people want the porthole/verandah etc... We were not willing to pay money for a room we were only planning to sleep in. But here is the question

Why did they not call you first to ask if you wanted the upgrade? Maybe for some a porthole near the elevater is great! And maybe if our kids weren't 7 & 5 we would be all for it but right now I think location to the Lab is more important for us! Late nights at the lab could mean long or short walks back to the cabin and as all you parents know, carrying a 7 year old is not like a 7 month old!

I don't know that I would turn down and upgrade but I would like to be asked first! ;)

When we made our reservation we just wanted a Cat 11 but we were never given a room number. We were also told that we would be a Guarantee and there would be a chance of an upgrade which is what we wanted. I would let them know that you do want to be notified if that comes up. :jester:

Marshmelo: Hooray for you!! I'm beginning to really think that our Sept 14 cruise is truly not very crowded, we got an upgrade also! I did get a call, but it was more of a "letting me know" as opposed to "do you want to"......but, I didn't care...I wanted the upgrade. Last year, we did a Land & Sea, and I had requested a certain room due to location, etc. We had a message on our machine in our room at the Polynesian the night before the cruise telling us that we had been upgraded, and to change our luggage tags. At first, I was disappointed, we really wanted that room.....but once we saw our bigger room, we were thrilled!!
Enjoy, and "see" you soon!

CONGRATS

We would love an upgrade for our last minute 3 day cruise October 2nd. It took me forever to talk my husband into a three day without the four kids so booking at the last minute we could only afford the cat 11. At this time it is a GTY. It is our 20th anniversary and we never had a honeymoon so an upgrade would be wonderful. keeping my fingers crossed.

Enjoy the upgrade :D

I booked thru DCL, last July or August. (Had to make sure we all got on the ship for the wedding)
