We got it too and we're in Alabama. We do plan to go there some time, but not this year unfortunately - 2 kids in college and a trip to WDW planned for August.
DH got a postcard for CA and I received an email for a pin code for when we're not going. I think that is more depressing than not receiving anything at all.
I have been there once and it is a nice park, but there is so much more things to do at Disneyworld compared to Disneyland.I also live in Georgia so Florida is so much closer!!
Well... things change!! I am now going on a last minute solo trip to Disneyland in the middle of June!!! I am attending a conference in LA for work, but I will be staying in Anahiem and commuting to the conference. All of my "off" hours will be in DISNEYLAND . I tried to use my pin code, but the Disney hotels were booked solid, plus it was the wrong dates.
Doing my research on Disneyland now, man things have changed since I went in 1997!
We didn't see everything in the area in 2003, but we did see everything in DL. We made it to San Diego Zoo for the pandas and not a lot else (2 hours in line to see the baby!) and up to Magic Mountain (we still had 6 Flags season passes then and wanted to use them once more) but the nasty weather kept us in Anaheim for most of our 10 days. I'd still rather be in WDW, but if I could snag cheap fares - and we flew to Orange County before - I guess I'd consider it.
I LOVED Disneyland and California Adventure.....I went a second time with a girlfriend......I hope to go a third time with my family again.....still have not seen everything and I WANT to see everything lol....
Hmm... airtran shows $538 per seat roundtrip plus taxes and fees.
It's 2380 miles, and if you get 20 mpg on the highway, you'll buy about 120 gallons of gas. At $5 per gallon, about $600 for the gas, four or five days to drive (each way, hotel each night, plus food and drinks for the whole family -- 4? -- for let's say 10 days using budget hotels... $2000). That's about $2600 to drive. Flying will cost $2152 plus tax.
Then you have to actually pay for the vacation at Disneyland.
Sigh, I'm just dying to go to Disneyland. My trip to the World is already booked for this year, but I've already started researching a trip to Disneyland for next fall.
Whether or not I go will really depend on my ability to get a good price on airfare. Unfortunately CT to CA is quite a flight! I don't even want to venture what the price of gas will be next year.
In 2003 I was lucky enough to snag 6 seats at about $220 a person....I remember telling everyone - Wow is is a few bucks cheaper than to Florida! And this was pretty "last minute" in my world - End of March for a beginning of August....
