Well, in order to save some money and also try shoes on to see what size fit...I went to payless and bought "airwalks" and my daughter had to get a womens 4 or 5 (they do not sell childrens in the stores). I got my normal size 7 I think and I walked in them and they felt really good at first. I got BLISTERS on the top of my feet on the insides. Did I do something wrong??? :sad2:

I really wanted these shoes to work. My daughters feet does not touch anywhere in the shoe. If you ask me I got them way to big for her but My feet touch everywhere in my shoes. Is that the problem??? I am so :furious: with all of this. I do NOT want blisters or tired feet or hurt so badly that I can't move!!! This is our big family vacation to WDW and I really do not want to ruin it for everyone. I beg of you, someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I work out everyday and walk 4 miles and now am upping my miles a day to 5 miles at least a day. I walk in "Sport Sketchers". Should I just get me a new pair now and get them broken in and just stay with them???? I really have no idea what to do now. :confused3 I am in tears!!

I will take any advice :listen: you all have to give. Please help save my families :wizard: princess: pixiedust: magical vacation.

Thank you :worship:

Are you absolutely set on wearing the airwalks while in wdw? If it were me I would probably end up bring in the shoe you wear for running. I have very high arches so finding shoes that i can wear (especially sandals) is almost impossible. When i find a pair of shoes i wear them everywhere no matter what. I would personally stick with a shoe that you find to be comfortable rather then try to find something completely different then what you already have.

I really am not "stuck" to having to have the airwalks but, need something that will not cause blisters.

We went last year to Kings Island for two days and after the first day we all had blisters and could hardly walk by the end of the day and the next for sure. I do not remember what brand of tennis shoes i was wearing. I can't remember what my daughter was wearing either. All three of us has tennis shoes on. That is why I thought maybe something better was out there for our week long vacation. I really do not want to ruin it for everyone.

Thanks for the info and advice. :)

Also if your feet tend to sweat(which can sometimes cause blisters and rubbing) they have special socks that minimize the sweating or that wick away sweat. I would definitely do some "testing" and see what works best for you. I know exactly what you mean about blisters because i get some bad ones. I have found what works for me is a basic running shoe and then a pair of cheap flip flops with fabirc straps. I stay away from plastic cause it will rub my feet raw. Keep your feet cool and comfortable and Im sure your vacation will be great.

It sounds like you fit your DD perfectly and yours are way too small. Here is the "fitting info" from the Croc website...

THE PERFECT CROCS™ FIT.

Crocs™ should not fit like other shoes:

They should fit very loosely.

The sides of your foot should not really touch the sides of the shoe.

Your toes should never make contact with the front of the shoe.

Once you have centered your foot on the foot-bed:

You should have about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of space in front of your toes, behind your heel and when you lift the strap you should be able to comfortably get your finger between the strap and heel.

In other words the fit should be “loose”.

I know that this goes against everything that you have ever been used to in a shoe, but these are the parameters that the shoe was designed to be worn under.

No Pressure points Ever!

To insure that the strap is not pulling your foot into the front of the shoe, rotate the strap forward and determine if your foot rests comfortably in the foot bed and there is room all around your foot. If so, you have the proper size but the strap is too short. To alleviate this issue, work your fingers around the strap and stretch it as you go around being careful not to put excessive pressure on the rivet hole. Stretch the strap until it is just short of the back edge of the shoe. The resin material has memory and will stay at the proper length after one or two of these types of adjustments.

I bought my daughter airwalks. I found the kids size 12/13. After a few days of wear, the sides of her feet were filled with cuts. I broke down and bought her real Crocs and she wears them everyday and loves them. No cuts at all (also bought these in a kids 12/13. I also have a pair and they are great, ugly but very comfy. I plan to spray my feet with an aerosol deoderant each morning. It really works keeping your feet dry. If you want a comfy shoe, I really suggest real Crocs. If you don't want to spring for the money, I say wear the shoes you are walking the 4 miles in.

Ny size 8 Airwalks fit VERY loosly on my size 81/2 feet. I mean like almost an inch from the end of my toes to the end of the shoes, and very loose everywhere else too. I was a little worried at first, as I don't like to wear the strap in the back, but rather wear them as clogs...but in the size 7, my toes touched the end of the shoe. I have been wearing my Airwalks for a year now, and I have not had one problem with my feet while wearing them. I even wore them all winter instead of regular slippers since regular slippers make my feet sweat so bad!

Having said all that...I am going to break down and buy the Crocs Athens thong style sandals. I tried them in Dick's sporting goods today and they felt great!

You may want to try a larger pair of the Airwalks. Otherwise I would go with something that is familiar on your feet. I know that the Crocs/Airwalks are not for everybody.

Good luck!

I agree, I think your Airwalks are too small for your feet. I have two pairs and they are a little big but so comfortable.
I get blisters under my toes every time I go to WDW when I wear my sneakers. I wear my sneakers at home without a problem and when I was able to walk better I did 5 miles in an hour.
Last year I bought airwalks in June and I have gone to WDW 5 times since then. I haven't had a blister since, and even though I don't walk anymore at home I walk like a fiend in WDW. My favorite walk is to beat the boat from MGM to Epcot. I walk around Epcot 3 or 4 times a day when there.
the pair of Airwalks I have are size 8 and I wear 8.5 in regular shoes. My long toe (next to the big toe) did rub when I first bought them but I got a great hint from these boards and it worked for me.
Instead of wearing big socks and putting on the shooes out of the dryer I just wrapped my long toe with paper towels to make it longer. Then I put on the Airwalks straight from the dryer and wore them for a few minutes till they cooled. My airwalks stretched in the spot I needed it too and now they fit great.
They are the best shoes for wearing to Kali River. My feet dryed in minutes while the rest of the group with sneakers on sloshed for hours. Peggie

In addition to everything others have said, I find that I must wear the Airwalk properly with the 'ridge' properly positioned where my toes branch off the sole of your feet. If this 'ridge' is not at the right area, it's not a proper fit either.

In any event, my feet sweat in the 10 minutes I tried the Airwalk out while they don't at all with Crocs. So no Airwalk for me.

The Crocs are comparable in price with the Airwalk in Canada. So I definitely continue to get Crocs rather than Airwalk.

My advice? Go buy some Teva sandals. I bought both last year - Croc's and Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals (huge price difference!!). I kept the Tevas after wearing them around the house for a week or two. I love Tevas!

I agree I love my Teva's. Wore then around Disneyland in July and they were very comfy. I had never worn anything but walking/running shoes to Disneyland, until then.

yes, I'd say they are too small for your feet. I wore sz 8 airwalks all week last month on our WDW trip and had nary a problem. My feet felt terrific, except for the ONE day I decided to wear the one pair of Croc Niles (open toed sandals)... that was a huge mistake! Those things SUCK big time and I had blisters and throbbing feet within two hours. So it was back to my airwalks and heaven for my feet!
So, I'd suggest you try the dryer trick - toss them for a few minutes then slip them right on with a pair of thick socks. that might do the trick for you.
