I got a letter, I'm so excited!

My very dear, dear friend is Special Forces/Green Beret, and I haven't heard from him since this all began. My DH just called to say that there's a letter from him in our mailbox today, dated March 25. Can't wait to get home and read it! (Happy dance...)

The good was that it was *his* handwriting, and that he was positive, remembering all the good times he's had in his life, our friendship, etc....

The bad was that it was written on March 22, as they were sitting around waiting to board the plane to invade Iraq, so they had nothing better to do then write those "last letters home". I just hope he's still okay...

Emotional, yes. He's been in almost since we graduated from h.s., so that'd be 17 years. He's been in the Middle East often, so knows what expect, which can be good or bad. Has a wonderful wife and three kids under the age of 6. I just keep on praying for and all the others...
