I got a "new" FL Resident Newsletter this AM in my Email today. THis is what it said regarding rates:
74*
per night, plus tax
at a select
Disney Value Resort

*Rate available most Sunday–Thursday nights 2/28–3/23 and 4/3–4/16/05. The number of rooms available at this rate is limited.

Just call us at
407-939-7788
Remember to mention code “BEW.”

Proof of Florida residency required at check-in. Additional per-adult charges apply if more than two adults (18 or older) per room. No group rates or other discounts apply. Advance reservations required. All prices and terms of this offer are subject to change without notice. Other room types are available at varying rates. Offer will also be made to certain non-Florida Residents in other select promotions.

Hope this helps!

Kelly

I got this in my email today, too. This is about the third time I have gotten email with "exclusive" Florida resident codes. The only problem --- I am NOT a Florida resident! :) Anyone know why I would keep getting these??

wow i thought the Floriday discounts would have been better than that. hmmm... I guess if they release general codes I prob. wouldn't be able to use them for a 7 night stay , plus it would prob. be $79 a night or higher, which is close to the $84.15 I'm getting now thru AAA rates

wait a sec... those codes are just through April :rotfl: I'm still asleep

I would have thought so too! We paid 79 for a Mod. in Dec.

I got the FL resident email today too - very disappointing! We were hoping for a discount for May and this one is only for selected dates through mid-April (excludes the 2 weeks around Easter) and now they are even putting restrictions on the days (no weekends). I guess we should be happy to get any kind of discount at all, but we were able to get $49 rates at the Values and $79 at the Moderates just this fall, so this is not encouraging . Since FL resident rates usually mirror the AP rates, I'm guessing the AP rates may be similar to this and the discounts for the general public will be even less exciting (if they have them at all).

I got this email this morning as well. I got really excited at first and then was let down. This is the same code that has been out for a while. For those of you complaining about the high rate, remember this is peak season.

I get these too, both regular mail and email and I'm not a Florida resident either! It is close - I'm in GA - but not close enough to count :) . I'm like you, I have no idea why I get them. I keep hoping for a GA resident code, but nothing so far.

I got the FL resident email yesterday to. But I am a TX resident. Dont know why I am on the FL resident list.

those are the same dates that have been out for AP since 12/27/04. The FLA rate have been out for those dates since 12/31/04! Are they just not getting enough ressies that they are reminding people of the "great" rates out?

I get these too! I'm not a Fla resident either! I never get any other kind though. I'd love to know what to do to correct this.

I have seen this "deal" posted on Disney's website for ages...it doesn't seem like a bargain at all. But, for those planning to go in the next couple of months, maybe it's a sign that the crowds won't be bad. Otherwise why would they be going out of their way at the last minute to keep advertising these "bargains"? I'm holding out for another $49/night rate like we got in January.

I noticed on Expedia that there are more rooms available in early to mid April than in May for WDW resorts. Since they want to fill those rooms, they are going to keep throwing out discounts for that time period.

I am a Florida Resident and an AP holder and I have not received any e-mail with these codes.
:confused3

If you'd like to PM me with your e-mail address, I will forward the e-mail to you. They said all you need is proof of Florida residency to use the code.

I think I will just be able to call and use the code. I am already in the system as a FL. Res. I am trying to figure out if we are going to go during Spring Break.

But thank you very much for the Offer. That was very nice of you.

You're right - I should have noticed that these were the same rates that have been out there for a while, so I feel better about the possibility of another FL resident rate (and general public codes) being released for spring dates after mid-April. I would agree that Disney must have quite a few rooms still available for the next couple of months and will keep advertising the "deals" for these dates. Hopefully we will see some actual "new" deals announced in the next couple of weeks.

The reason the rates are higher is because the times quoted are doing the PEAK season, vs. regular and value season in the fall. You can't compare value season of $49 discount to the peak season of $74 discount.

You should still check on the times that are blacked out. I got a discounted room around MLK weekend and it was a discounted time, but when I called it was available at the discount.

I guess I meant that compared to those $49 deals (during value season), it's just hard to want to pay $74 for the same accommodations. I agree that it's a decent rate for non-value periods. I'm lucky that without kids right now, DH and I can avoid the peak seasons and (hopefully) wait for the cheaper rates..... :hourglass

I'm a FL Res and I got a postcard a few weeks ago, it has 2 rate periods on it: 2/17-4/16 at $74 a night (the same as the FL discount) and 4/17-7/4 at $59 a night, which I'm assuming will also be the same as the FL discount. I keep reading about no one having any ideas of the new code rates so I thought I'd finally register and post the info I have :)

HTH someone!

~Kimberly (who will be arriving at POP in 3d 19h 15m, but whose counting??)
