I called the airport again where I used to fly out of on SE. I asked the women there about any new info on airlines wanting to help us out. She said Airtran....who is offering the $50 standby seats til Dec 8th and Transmeridian.
I called Transmeridian (iflytma.com) 3 times today already to ask ?'s and feel them out. They must think I am a nutcase.....altho at this moment I AM!
I was able to get great flight times...at least IMO at this late of a game.
I am flying out of Harrisburg on Dec 21 at 245 pm...arriving in Sanford at 5 pm.
Coming home on Dec 30 leaving Sanford at 1130 and back in Harrisburg at 145 pm. Round trip for 4 of us..... $646.80
They just expanded to Harrisburg and only offer Florida for now from Harrisburg. They have been in biz since 1995. My local paper talked about these little airlines and said any airline w less then 25 planes in their fleet is a concern....not that that soley means anything, they were just giving tips. Very informative. Altho I could have gotten our exact flights I woudl have paid 1120$...but even with the dates i have booked w TMA, I didnt come close in price by a few hundred. Most of the flights are not available or expensive which I figured this late in the game.
I hope this is a wise choice. I pray that this was the right thing to do. I am aware that they too are charter lines. I am hoping w their history in biz, that its a better choice of one of the few I had. Guess it was meant to be that I am not doing NYE with MICKEY. BUT---I am getting there and not losing any time either!
Check them out if its an option for you. Someone just told me today that USAIR was talking strike/bankruptsy. I dont know for sure. I know they had hard times but havent followed them lately. Its scary.
