This happens frequently. I finally started buying Butter Pecan ice cream, I like it, but it's not my favorite but NOBODY else in the house will touch it. Now when I want some ice cream there is some.

My Mom's friend used to hide her Pepsi in the washer.... she knew her 3 teenage daughters would never find it there. LOL

Have you had to get sneaky?

Oh no you poor thing! It's funny though I know the feeling. The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago, the container was in the freezer empty!
I can't hide the ice cream but I do hide chocolate in my bedroom away from my daughter. :rolleyes1

my dad used to sniff out chocolate. My mom would go to bake cookies and all the chocolate chips would be gone. She bought halloween candy and hid it in the back of a cabinet that he's never gone in, and what does he do? walks into the kitchen with my mom sitting right there, walks right up to that cabinet and finds the chocolate. My mom gives out pencils for halloween now :)

This always happens with my Dr. Pepper and it pisses me off, I hide it and just put one in the freezer for 30 minutes before I want one now. :)

We have a 'spare' fridge in our garage and at night we make sure all the goodies are downstairs and the door is locked. We forgot one night and our teenage son ate half a leg of lamb that was going to be lunch the next day.:lmao:

Desperate times call for desperate measures.:rotfl:

Anyone who touches Mommy's ice cream gets broken fingers....including the husband!

Fear works wonders. ;)

I guess someone else has acquired a taste for Butter Pecan ice cream now. :( Time to change flavors again.

When we were little my mom limited the amount of sweets we could have, but we always knew she kept her own private stash of candy in her bedroom. We knew better than to ever touch it, though!

Get a plastic container that you can't see through and will fit a container of ice cream. Label it pureed squash. Put ice cream carton in the container.

DH is bad about leaving an empty (or near empty) ice cream container in the freezer. It makes me so mad.

I've had to resort to hiding Zingers and Little Debbie's. I bought DS some Christmas tree cakes for December. I knew he could ration 5 of them over the course of 2 weeks. I also knew that DH would eat all 5 in one setting if he found them. He was actually offended when he discovered what I had done. We don't mind sharing treats, but watching them disappear within hours of making it home from the grocery store is enough to make me want to scream. (Obviously, I don't buy treats like this very often as it turns into a big free-for-all.):scared:

My Mom used to buy us chicken and fries from the hot food section of the grocery store to eat while they were hiding the snacks they bought. She said it was "teenager chum" because we were like sharks circling the grocery bags.

She hid stuff in the laundry room, and in the back of the cabinets with stuff piled on top of it because she knew we wouldn't move it. My Dad used to like this nasty candy that was pink and black striped, and he hid stuff in the empty tins, and they piled stuff under the coffee maker cover.

I've been known to hide a cupcake or two.:rolleyes1

Speaking of bringing food in to the house and not having it last long...I've had food disappear from grocery bags that were left on the kitchen counter while I went out to the car to get the rest of the groceries. We're talking minutes here! Some people (and I won't name names-yeah, my kids AND husband) have actually removed food from a grocery bag, opened the item, taken out what they wanted, then put the opened box back in the grocery bag! They could have at least put the opened box in the pantry.

My DH heard about a trick of hiding Edy's Dibs in a frozen vegetable bag. Thinking he was doing something nice for me, he emptied a frozen broccoli bag and instead of putting the whole container of Dibs in there, he dumped them loose into the bag! Yum, nothing like broccoli-flavored Dibs! ;)

I never said anything, he was sweet for trying! Oh, and the kids NEVER found them! :thumbsup2 The idea definitely has potential.

The same thing happens to me all the time too. What annoys me is that they'll leave the empty containers and make me think there's still some there, and I go to get something, and there's just crumbs left.

I hid the Xmas presents behind a stash of cleaning supplies.
I knew the kids would never find them there.

We hide things in two different boxes. one was a huge instant oatmeal box from BJ's. The oatmeal came and went however, the huge box remained... there were cookies, milanos, etc always hidden in there.

And don't laugh, a huge tampon box is a good hiding spot for any bathroom related items. My teenage son wont go in there!

OMG, I could have SOOOO written this word for word. What is wrong with people? LOL I'm lucky if my teenage boys (well 12 and 14) ever venture out of their bedrooms....but when they hear my car door close from going grocery shopping, they're like a bolt of lightening. They're in that kitchen so fast, tearing through the grocery bags like they've never eaten before. And if it's a week that I don't buy "junk", all I ever hear is....."how come you didn't buy anything to eat?" HELLOOOOOOO, I just spent $200, I'm sure you can find something.

My oldest is the worst though. He can go through a box of goodies or a bag of chips in tha matter of a day, seriously. Sometimes when I buy goodies, I will store them in a lower cabinet. Everytime I go in there, I notice that the box is still sealed (so I'm thinking that they haven't found the stash yet) when in reality, he's opened the box, eaten the whole box but has turned the box around so I only see the UN-opened side. He's a little devil, I tell ya. My youngest though, isn't a chocolate or sweet kind of kid. Give him chips though.....and he's all set.

when i buy my own ice cream, i write my name on it. that's the only thing that will stop my sisters and dad from eating it. my mum respects the concept of "mine."

:lmao: I love that idea. Too bad I can't hide pepperoni in a tampon box in the fridge.
