Anyway - I don't need anything spelled out for me but the thread title was fairly vague. And since I don't see why we need 5 or 6 "Support Bush" threads - I wonder why we have cheap ones like this popping up.

1) I don't think I've ever gotten overly nasty with anyone. I supported my candidate and I gave my reasons for not supporting yours. So lumping me with other individuals you may or may not be talking about really isn't fair to me. The last I checked I am an individual and have no problem stating my own thoughts with out the assistance of "Group Think." You may want to learn from that.

2) If my candidate would have won I can tell you that I would have taken a page out of Disney Enthusiast book and given the Bush Supporters time to get over their loss. I would not have been constantly starting new threads insulting supporters of the Republican party, bashing Mrs. Bush, and telling all of you to get over it.

I meant the royal "you" not you, specifically. Do you really think things would have been different here had Kerry won?

I'm sure that there are people here who would have celebrated Kerry's win. I won't deny that - I can only tell you how I would have behaved and I can tell you it would not be in the manner that some of the Bush supporters are behaving in.

You have 2 or 3 post election threads going with your celebrating - my mere questions is do we really need another one? Sheesh.

I never said anything about 7 minutes - again I love how you guys lump everyone. And if you had such a dang problem with it over the last year then you should have spoke up then. It is amazing that you waited until your guy won before you decided to speak up.

What is the statute of limitations, Amanda? Refresh my memory, please?

I do recall many heated debates over the past several months where these exact things--including the seven minutes-- were discussed. Accusations were made and rebutted both sides. Of course, our side was obviously much more successful.

When Charlie, nj posts a thread that explicitly states he hates when people bash our president, what would make you think that it wasn't started by one who supports Bush for others that support BUsh and hates when other DISers bash our President Bush. By the way, he won this past election!

Anyways, I usually liked your posts but, your posts have changed, too. Time to be adaptable, wouldn't you say? Time to show some tolerance for the winning side? We're inclusive. . .just join up, no hard feelings here!

There were a lot of pro-Kerry and anti-Bush threads before. You participated on many that would be considered "cheap" by the Bush Supporters. Would you at least agree with that? Considering how much we fought for our candidate, as you did yours, we're supposed to pretend his victory doesn't thrill us? Remember, we're not hypocritical leftie elitists!

No nuances for us. We fought hard. We won. Good for us.

well said.

I've seen more vitriol here -- and elsewhere -- in the days after the election than I saw during the campaign.

amanda, maybe if you (I mean you in general) could be honest, then this could really cease for real.

do you honestly believe that calling Bush Hitler, Saddam, Obl, and posting pictures that depict him as those murderers is equivalent to calling Clinton "slick willy" or calling Kerry a "flip flopper"?

Is an insult the same, or are there degrees? I thought you saw nuances. . . as I said a post or so back.

The only reason I am annoyed with Charlie's post is that he said
kept my mouth ..err I mean keyboard shut for a long time. I watched as a hand full of Bush supporters got ripped to pieces over the last year. (shame on me) I only started coming out with about two months to go.

I would have much more respect for his post had he actually been debating the presidential election topics with you over the last year. But alas - he didn't. That is just my opinion - some may agree and some may not.

I'm sure they were and you want to know what my reaction was ---- there is nothing that could have been done in those 7 minutes that would have made a difference. You need to remember Kendra I don't hold any actions of President Bush from 9/11 or in the war in Iraq against him.

Thanks for the reminder - I had forgotten that Bush won  In all honesty if this would have been a thread about respecting the President then I would have been on your side. You'll notice I don't use names when discussing the President. And I was going to state that although we may not agree with his decisions that we should show enough respect for the office to not get into a name calling debate. Hence why I opened the thread. Betcha didn't see that coming did ya!

Oh I'm sure I did - you won't see me denying that. But I doubt I added anything that was cheap. I tend to post thoughts and words instead of cutesy graphics.

I do find some of you to by hypocritical though. Whining about the name calling that Bush has had to deal with when many of you were slinging just as much mud and name calling.

I just noticed a post where someone quoted you and you mentioned me in a kind way. Just wanted to say thank you for portraying me in such a nice way. I am truly flattered by your remark and hope that all Kerry Supporters know that I am so very sorry 1/2 our country is disappointed at the outcome of the elections. My heart goes out to all of you. And I still consider you all my friends. :)

I'm sure there were lots of other names and actions done to Kerry. Like totaly ripping to shreds his military record. I don't agree with refering to Bush as Hitler, Saddam, or OBL - and again you didn't see me personally doing that. Again that is WHY I opened the thread - hoping to actually help end the name calling. But everyone is to busy yelling THEY STARTED IT!

No, I didn't see that coming. As I said, though, we're inclusive. . .it's never too late to join up!

I still like you, Amanda. . . even if you drink way too much.

Let's just not confuse "bashing" with expressing our constitutional right to free speech.

I'm not going to stop saying what I think is wrong with OUR president. I think, now, more than ever, it's important to speak out. I'm not doing it just to make noise or be disrespectful - I'll do it because I'll be saying what I believe and what I think needs to be said.

all I can say is...if people didn't "bash" King George III, we'd still be a British colony.

Why are you all bashing Amanda? Is it cool to pick on those who are different from us now? Maybe you guys aren't familiar with her, but Amanda has always been nice, she has asked sincere questions that some people answered with hatred on other threads. So what, she wanted Kerry to win. Big deal. When are we all going to get past this?

Sadly, I DID see this coming.

Are those comparisons WORSE than what was said about Kerry's service (which ,btw, was said by 200plus SBV who I believe were actually telling the truth)? Is there a difference between calling Bush Hitler, bin Laden, Saddam, etc., and ripping apart Kerry's record and labeling him a flipflopper, or is it all the same?

Just really wondering what you think.

Criticism is acceptable. But, calling Bush Hitler, and painting a little Hitler mustache on him and posting the picture is not criticism, imo. What's your opinion?

Kendra, she already said she didn't agree with the name calling. For God's sake people, move on. Bush won, I am happy he won, but do we need to keep going on about it?

AMEN, Miss Jasmine!::yes::

Isn't it about time to flood the boards with the "What is your favorite Christmas Carol?"

I know! Except for the being happy about Bush winning, I totally agree with your post.

Well I wasn’t allowed to join in on this year’s CB election threads. My wife is a Kerry supporter she would have beat the crap out of me if she knew I was voting for Bush. (talk about school yard ..she would have given me one bad *** school yard whipping) Not to mention she is a teacher and she would have whacked my butt with a metal ruler…

I was in on some of those election threads..(only those times when my wife went shopping) you know honestly the only name I remember seeing Kerry called was liar.

I'm sorry. I guess you need more nuance. No, she qualified that statement by implying that names were also used towards Kerry. You can't admit one point because you just won't, out of pride or something, or you won't because you really don't see the difference. I'm just trying to find out what that is.

that's why the Left comes of as equivocating, as extreme, and as hypocritical pseudo-intellectual elitists.

Of course, that's the Left as in "general" Left.
