If go to to the member website and look in the "points calculator" the points are there! Here are two examples of what I was able to do!

A magic kingdom view studio at BLT the third weekend in august looks like it will be 166 points. Go to the DVC member site points calculator!

Resort Room Type Arrival Date Departure Date Vacation Points Required

Studio - Magic Kingdom View 8/17/2009 8/24/2009
166 points

1 Bedroom - Magic Kingdom View 8/17/2009 8/24/2009
333 points

The one bedroom however for the same time frame jumps up like crazy!

Yes, I saw it too. You actually have to use the calculator to see the points. I did a comparison to my 2009 trips and what I plan to spend on those. I found the points only slightly higher to those. Nevertheless, still higher.

I allocated 170 points for a 2 bedroom - 5 nights at BCV for late August. The same timeframe at BLT will be 185.

For July 5 night: WLV = 70 BLT = 85

So obviously my points won't go as far when staying at the BLT. I was planning on jumping right into this, but do find myself hesitating.

Wow, 30%+ more more for standard view BLT studios, than at OKW? I think I'll skip it.

Me, too (probably, LOL. Hard not to get caught up in the hype).

But I am crossing my fingers and toes, hoping BLT & THV both take some of the pressure off the VWL, BWV and BCV.

Me too!

I played around with the calculator a bit. A MK-view Grand Villa for the Friday after Thanksgiving will run you 215 points...FOR THE NIGHT!

Nope. I'm perfectly happy staying at the other DVC properties. I'll leave BLT for others.

Adventure Season

85 points to stay in a studio, MK view, Sun - Fri

60 points to stay in a studio at VWL (by comparison)

So do I!! It's getting harder and harder to get into BCV at certain times of the year anyway!

Did I miss something? Did they make the announcement for BLT?:confused3

I just checked how many points it would cost us for our usual trip in Nov. 5 nights in a 1 bedroom MK view will be 175pts. Works perfect for me because I was planning on a 200pt add on!:thumbsup2

Sorry, know it's a long post, but figured some would for sure want to see this!!!

There are three levels of views: standard, lake and magic kingdom view. The 2 bed standard view was 7 more points than the WLV for my trip in Feb.
201 points BLT compared to 194 points WLV

I put in my dates for next year. I already have a studio on the concierge level at AKV booked at 103pts for our stay and the following are the comparison at BLT:

124 pts. Studio MK View
104 pts. Studio Lake View
94 pts. Standard View

I think I'd rather remain on concierge level for less points, however I may stay in a standard view at BLT in the future just to try it out and for the closeness of MK :confused3 .

IMO I think that will be a seriously tough get @ 7 mos. out if BLT is not your home resort!

Me, too - the standard view rooms are only 11% of the total available.

The standard view untis at the BWV make up almost 20% of the available rooms and the BWV are larger than the BLT will be.

I think those SV untis at BLT will be harder to get thant the SV at the BWV - even if you own there and call as soon as the 11 month window opens.

I predict a LOT more BLT owners will be calling right at 11 months than owners at the other DVC resorts do!

I agree, with the percentage being so low for the standard rooms, I too predict them impossible to get into without the 11 mo window. Of course this is why I also own at the BWV -- gotta love the standard points.

Is there any word on when we may actually be able to start booking this resort?

I believe I read somewhere March 2009 for BLT owners and May 2009 for non-BLT owners. I think ressies start in September 2009. Someone please double-check this for me :thumbsup2 .

An official announcement is probably needed before anyone can start making reservations.... sure looks like it will be soon... :woohoo:

Wow, 30%+ more more for standard view BLT studios, than at OKW? I think I'll skip it.

I'll skip it too. Not only because of the extra points, but also because it just does NOT appeal to me at all. It didn't before, and now that we have seen the videw, it appeals to me even less!

Holy Cow!!! A Lake view GV in Adventure season is 619 points a week. Compare that to an AKV GV in Adventure season for a hundred points less, and the AKV GV will have a savanna view!!! Nope...no interest in that at all! Heck, I'll never be able to get the AKV one even though I would love it! I think I'll be sticking to our OKW GVs at 356 points for that same week! Of course, a LOT more people are going to be begging for those great value OKW GVs now too!

Anyone else notice that it looks like they loaded the data backwards between the standard view and lake view studio units during adventure, choice and dream seasons for weekends.

It is very obvious that they have done a major rework from the original average points that were filed back in May.

They have gone back to a more historically standard ration between studio+1BR vs 2BR. On the original filing there was almost a 1 to 1 ratio.

Also the weekday percentage to weekend has moved from about 50% to around 60%. They have also applied that percentage to the weekend GVs starting with the weekday numbers thereby greatly increasing the weekend GV points.

Just some quick observations.

I will be working on an estimate of total saleable points so we can get an estimate of gross sales for the resort.
