I found something in my lunch

I haven't been really hungry lately and decided to go with something light for lunch. I had a Lean Cuisine in the freezer so I heated it up. As I was cutting up my chicken I noticed an odd piece of rice. I picked it out and started looking at it. DH was home for lunch and noticed what I was doing. I placed *it* on his plate. DH disected it and said "I'll eat about anything but I'm not eating that" (we would never make it on Fear Factor). It was some kind of little worm. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. DH kept asking "do you want me to go get you something?", Umm no thank you. I am so dissappointed.

Sorry, I hope you've all finished eating lunch or you're not eating a Lean Cuisine while reading this.

Not quite the same thing, but once when I opened up a package of celery, there was a frozen ladybug on one of the stalks. I threw the entire package away. :crazy2:

I hope you didn't eat any of the Lean Cuisine before you saw the worm!

No, I had not started eating yet. My dog enjoyed it though.

Say it isn't so...I love Stouffers products!!! A few yrs back I almost choked on a bone made from my own Bumble Bee tuna. It was scary and I called to let them know, not expecting a thing and got some free coupons.

I once opened up a package of macaroni and cheese and found some kind of worms in it. I threw it away along with all the other packs of mac and cheese and didn't eat any for years.

Well..the good news is that it was totally edible..the bad news is, it might have been a maggot...or somekinda rice eating catapiller that made it into the process...at anyrate, I would have trashed it too!

Yes, I think that's what it was - BLAH!!!!

:scared: :crazy2: I am totally gagging right now.

Years ago, I had an open package of baby rice cereal. After feeding several servings to the infant I was caring for, I pour some in a bowl on morning and noticed it "moving". :earseek: Looking closer, I saw lots of things roaming around inside the bowl. :scared: I immediately called Gerber who told me that it wasn't uncommon -- it must have been improperly stored at the grocery store.

I was totally grossed out because I had fed the baby several servings with those bugs in it. Gerber told me they were "safe" bugs and wouldn't hurt the little one. :earseek:

The worst part was I then had to call the baby's mother and tell her I had been feeding her child bugs. :scared1:

The good news of this story is that today, this little boy is one of the best eaters I've ever cared for. Imagine that.
