I found out how to pick up elderly men....

My 63 year old dad has a Focus! Anyway, when I had '97 Saturn (in 2008), I had an elderly man approach me at a gas station. He came up to me, and it was a little weird, but I figured I could outrun him!:rotfl2: He started asking me how I liked it, telling me it looked good. He said he just got rid of his and he had loved it.

actually the focus is a very multigenerational car. I have seen several that have been riced out by the younger set.

You are so right. I have had my ford focus for 5 years now and old men seem to love it. They are always asking me about mileage and if it travels well. I love my focus though as it is not a gas guzzler and so far I have only had to do one major repair to it.

Okay, I have to ask, what was the major repair? Mine is 7 years old and I've only done brakes and tires (knock on wood). I hope to make it at least 10 years without a major repair. My wife's Mountaineer is 10 years old, and I did have to spend $250 having a solenoid replaced, but I don't consider that a major repair. I was disappointed it failed so soon.

Crossing Ford Focus off my list of possible new cars.

Now if it attracted young hot guys in their 20's...sign me up.

Well, if you don't mind them being extremely sexist, redneck guys, you can borrow my DH's 14 year old Toyota pickup truck. Here's how it goes every time I drive it:

That's a big truck for such a little girl! Is that a 5-speed? HoooWeee, who taught you to drive a 4 wheel drive stick shift?

Mine was brakes and tires as well. I considered those major as nothing else has had to be done. They are great cars though.

buy a Ford Focus! I bought a new one back in April and while I love it, it seems to be a strong draw to elderly men!!

I have had several stop to talk to me about my car. I told me DH about it and he didn't believe me until he saw it happen today! I was walking into Culver's and an elderly gentleman, I would guess early to mid eighties stopped and wanted to know all about my car, what kind of mileage, how did it ride, all kinds of things!! I never got that kind of attention with my Camry! It has a beautiful metallic paint which they also want to know all about. I guess if my DH and I break up for some reason and I am back on the market, I will have to hang out where all the old guys are with my Focus!

OH MY GOSH!! This happens to me all the time. It just happened yesterday in the bank parking lot. The guy wanted to know all about my car and I was in a rush trying to get home.

I bought my 2010 focus in october and this one very old guy stopped me in a parking lot about a week after I bought it. He started telling me all of fords history, how far they have come etc. I don't get why this car attracts old men! Why can't it attract cute college boys????? hahahahahaha!

I'm always getting asked "what color is your car?". Ford calls it "natural" but its actually a really light green.

Powellrj....I always thought you were a guy! It must be your avatar pic. Sorry!

My 71 year old dad drives a Ford focus. This thread is hysterical!:rotfl2:

Riced out? Is that the new tricked out? :teeth:

Tricked out is a younger term than Riced Out, and some people take offense to "Riced" as it mostly applied to japanese cars at first, so tricked out is a non-offensive term. ;)
