OK, so after complaining about David's Bridal, I gave them a 3rd chance... my mother had to get a dress for my half-brother's wedding next month... so I made an appt. to look at wedding gowns at the same time... as some of you already know, I have a wedding gown from when my fiance and I set a date 6 years ago... needless to say, he backed out and we didn't get married... but we are now... so I whipped out that dress, put it on and I didn't get that happy feeling you get when you put on "the dress". I went back and forth on whether or not to even look at other dresses... but I really have issues with the dress I have... I only like part of it... and to rip the top off and start over, it might just be worth looking at a new dress... so I figured I'd start at David's Bridal since I'd be there anyway... all it took was trying on 2 dresses and I found it... :cool1: WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! I truly feel like a fairy tale princess. princess: I am sooooooooooo excited!!! I also bought the cathedral gown that goes with it... because it also has the crystals on it. I am going to get myself a fabulous tiara - something along the lines of Miss America... :goodvibes Because I deserve it. :flower: I've waited 11 1/2 years for him to ask me to marry him... and now that time has come... you can't really see it in the pic but the top of the skirt is covered in crystals and they cascade down like waterfalls.... the GREATEST part of all of this is as most of you know David's Bridal is a buy it off the rack place. What you see is what you get... well, I had a wonderful woman helping me with my gown and she ordered me a BRAND NEW dress... so I will be the only one who has ever worn it... she told her manager they didn't have it in my size and so she was able to order it... the veil too!!!!! OH, I almost forgot!!! It was on sale... so I got $150 off the dress and then because we bought the veil we got an extra 15% off that... I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: Here is the link to the gown:

Oh yeah, I also got the gloves, but I got the guantlet ones, the ones that come to a "V" on my hand and then a string goes around my middle finger to hold it in place... otherwise I wouldn't be able to wear them during the ceremony.... :wizard: I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy!!!! :bounce: AND my mother bought it all for me.!!!!! She said since she can't help pay for the wedding, she wanted to be able to buy my dress!!!! I just wanted to share my happiness with you guys!!! :goodvibes Thanks for all the info and I look forward to sharing my wedding plans with you guys over the next year. :cool1:

this is a very beautiful dress. i'm so happy that you found your dream dress. congratulations!! when is your disney wedding?

Hopefully it will be on Sept. 23, 2006. If we can't get that date I think my fiance is going to have a fit... for whatever reason, he says that we HAVE to get married on that day... anything that has ever happened on the 23rd has been lucky for him... and that is the only month he wants to get married in... so I guess I'm lucky it fell on a Sat... :flower: Hopefully our ceremony will be at Sea Breeze Pointe and we are still looking at options for reception... we want to have an Illuminations party in there somewhere whether it's in the middle of the reception or beginning... we'll see how it goes... :cool1:

That is a beautifull dress and you are one patient girl! Good luck :wizard:

That dress is gorgeous! It's a good thing mine's already at the seamstress' house or I would have to run out and try that on! :flower:

Oh, my daughter's getting married October 1st and we're so happy and excited (it's been a looong wait!!). Does anyone have recommendations for a pretty dress for a "youngish looking" Mom who doesn't want to wear one of those "mother dresses" (long with a jacket). I have short legs and would look better in a short dress. The wedding is a morning wedding, the bridesmaids (2) are wearing very simple tea length dresses in a burgundy color. I know I should have done this by now but we've been so busy, bought a house, disney vacation next Saturday with the grandkids, I figure after that (in between moving) It's time to look for a dress - any suggestions??? (New Jersey area if possible, or on-line) Thanks!!!

Congratulations! Your dress is soooo beautiful and I'm sure you'll look like a princess! :flower:

Best wishes!

I saw that dress on the web site just recently and it was my favorite one I saw. You are going to be a princess on your wedding day.

Awww, I'm glad to hear the news! The first time I tried on dresses I was sooooo excited and then when I got to the place, we didn't have a David's Bridal too near, there were only 2-3 in my size and they were an old style and didn't look young and so I left soooo unhappy and thinking I'd never wear a dress. Then one day I looked online and found my dress and then i went through those emotions of what if I don't like it and then when it arrived after it was ordered and I slipped it on, I was frolicking because I was so enamored with it. Can't wait to see pics of you in it!
