about the planter DH won late last summer!

There was a raffle at one of our local grocery stores so DH bought a ticket. A couple of days later we got a call that he had won. The planter is made of some sort of foam resin, so it's extremely lightweight, and they threw in the flowers (actually a hanging basket, kind of straggly), to fill it up.

As you can see from the pics, it was very close to the grass, and one day when I was using the whipper snipper, I got a little too close, and before you could say...look out Bud!...the whipper snipper took out a good chunk out of the planter base!

I turned the cut part in to face the steps, kept my mouth shut, and DH didn't notice for a week!!

LOL Marsha, yes, they're petunias, double petunias, and trailing verbena. I didn't grow them, it was a hanging basket that they stuck in the planter. They were extremely straggly, and had to be pinched back, hard!

They look beautiful and I love verbena... Pinch back hard you say.. ok.. I will try them this summer...and they do have an interesting fragrance..although people there is no fragrance.. I do notice a little something.

Ahh... So that is what color looks like. All I have seen in my garden is WHITE. THe planter and flowers look FANTASTIC!!! Thank you for sharing them.

But please, you forgot to tell us? Methinks you were just embarrassed about your boo-boo but recently came across the beautiful photos and wanted to share them but your conscious felt the need to tell the ENTIRE story. Confession is good for the soul, that sort of thing, ya know.
