After years of whining I wanted a pin code, I got one today for FD no blackout dates except Thanksgiving- and I don't think I'm even going to use it. :sad1: It does require 5 nights.

Well, I just wanna say Thanks Disney- I'm feeling the love again. :lovestruc

*just updating that I am using the pincode offer for Oct! The week that was blackout. Oct 16- 21st.

Yay Disney, I actually got a pincode and I can use it. Ahhhh!!

Does it require 5 nights with a 5 day pass, or is this where they just give an example?
Usually when people mention this it is just a marketing effort to show what a family of 4 would cost over a five night period. It doesn't mean that is all the offer is good for.

the email I received had a min. 5 nights and 5 day pass...

I copied this from my email: For arrivals most nights 10/3–11/23/10 and 11/28-12/16/10.
FREE Disney Dining Plan
when you purchase a 5-night/5-day non-discounted

I should say that the email itself didn't specify how many days' tickets were required. It had a Book Now! link and I went to play around with it on the website (knowing full well I won't be using it) and the minimum number of tickets it would let me choose was 2 days. It's worth asking about anyway.

That's just talking about your hotel stay, not your tickets.

I would call and ask if you have to purchase the 5 days or if it's just an example. When they advertise the GP FD, they give 5 days as the example for pricing and/or what the family could save.

Oh shut up, I am such a moe!! You are right, 2 day pass! I had to change the search engine to a 2 day pass. :magnify: :rolleyes1

Geez, this may just change everything now!!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out!!

So, question- would you go Mid Sept or Mid Oct? Which would be better far as crowds go? I mean as if you can predict that? :confused3 :rotfl:

:rotfl: No problem =) Well mid-October has Columbus day weekend in there, but if you're avoiding that the crowds should be similar. October does have Food & Wine Festival going on, so if you'd like to check that out October is the way to go!

I got the code also and it was my first one so I am very excited! Just a note... I was playing with the dates and put in Nov 23- Nov 28 and it let me use the code so it is possible to use over Thanksgiving weekend as long as you check in on one of the "available" dates. We are going Oct 9-16. Can't wait!

My DH and myself both received a pin code for this offer and can not use it..bummer! I really need one for around the end of Dec - first part of Jan. I keep dreaming something will come around later for those dates.

my pin expired and they wont to anything for me and i need one for my sept vacation : (

Well, I guess I don't want this pin anyway. I'm only going for 5 days/4 nights. Now I don't feel so bad about not getting it.

The minimum is a 3 night day. As an earlier poster stated, the 5 night listed in the email is an example (although it is deceiving - intentionally I'm sure). There is a 2 day ticket requirement however. We already have our tickets so I am just going to have the 2 day ticket separated out and keep it for a later trip (or sell it).

Like a pp said if you're going in September you should be able to use one of the public codes available. Room only, FD or Kids Play Free.

Thanks for the info! Of course, now I'll be obsessing over my emails again watching for a pin. :rolleyes1
