I Finally Got A Job!!!

I have spent the last 9 months unemployed and constantly searching for a new job. The stress has been getting worse and worse the closer it came to the 12 month mark and the end of unemployment. I got the call today that I was selected for a job that I really wanted and I was so happy I cried Anyway just wanted to share my awesome news.

BTW, thanks Podcast crew for being my "happy place" during this stressful time. If things seemed really bad, I would just turn on my IPod and go to my happy place for awhile.

Congratulations! That's awesome news. I've been layed off since July and know what you mean by constantly looking for a job. I'm always checking all kinds of job sites and companies websites for employment multiple times a day. Just before Thanksgiving I took a job as a temp at a county job through a temp agency as a way to extend my unemployment. Plus it sounded like there was a real good chance that the job could become permanent full time. I was filling in for someone out on FMLA for unknown reasons to me, but it appears she's going to retire and not return. I'm pregnant also and had a dr. appt. last Thursday taking me out of the office for 2.5 hours and they terminated my assignment saying that I was putting them back into the same position they were already in. My assignment was supposed to be until Feb. 1 and I'm not due until May 1 so there was no reason I couldn't complete it. I did fear that I wouldn't be offered the job at the end due to being pregnant, but never expected them to end it early. I was very hurt and still am, but am back to looking for something else.
